Audio not working

I have had no problems with my Xbox but today the audio stopped working. At first I thought it was my tv but my tv is brand new and it works on its own the audio is loud and clear but once I switch to HDMI output where the Xbox is connected it doesn’t play any sounds at all. I’ve looked at all settings but nothing seems to work

*I got the picture to work but now my audio is not working??!! How do i make my audio work. it was also working fine but now there is no audio what so ever.

Hey Retro, can you clarify what kind of audio setup you're using ? Which cables are you using for audio? Just the red/white cables? Optical? HDMI? Keep us posted here, we'd love to see this resolves. Games are much more fun when you have audio!

I honestly don't know that much about what's going on. The TV isn't on mute, and even when I have the volume up to the max, I still can't hear the audio from anything going on with the xbox. The picture works just fine, and it isn't a problem with the
t.v. because my dvd player and all the t.v. channels have sound. One wierd thing is that while I can't hear the audio from the xbox, if I have my dvd player hooked up to the tv and playing on a separate input, I actually hear the audio from the movie when
I'm switch to the HDMI and am looking at the Xbox Dashboard. Talk about wierd...
