  1. Audio Lag via Optical Port during TV Remedy

I was dealing with this issue forever and it was making me mad. Intermittently while I would be watching TV the audio would lag behind the video. I researched the issue and people said the XBOX One can't handle video through HDMI and audio through Optical
simultaneously correctly. Because of the lag, started putting the optical cable into the AT&T Uverse set top box. This delivered IMO much better audio anyway. Then the lag started again so I put the optical cord back in the XBOX. I got tired of doing this
so I started using an optical switch I got from
    www.monoprice.com
. Whenever the audio lags, I switch the audio from the Uverse box to the XBOX and vice versa. On this switch it's just a *** that I turn. I know this isn't a real fix, but it works for now. Apparently the audio is different on the network
channels like NBC than on other channels.

    :)

    Headset/chat question that needs answering

I have a Tritton AX 720 headset that I use for my Xbox One (plugged into the rear optical audio port). However, to receive chat audio that will allow me to talk too, it needs to be plugged into the controller via a cable.

My question is: if I get the Xbox One stereo headset adapter and connect the headset to it, will I still be able to get game audio via the optical cable? Or will it be forced into stereo mode because it's plugged into the adapter?

    Thanks in advance.

  3. Hdmi in and out question

If you do them separately, you might get lag due to video going different route before TV. I have my satellite box hooked to the xbox. xbox sends video to tv via hdmi, audio to amp via optical. Seems to be working fine, though a few times the audio wouldn't
come on and I had to reboot xbox. If you want Surround Sound using the TV app, it is enabled by BETA option in the TV setting, under Troubleshooting.

Xbox Series X connection to older AVR’s

Well you csn do it the proper way

All hdmi to your tv then audio out via optical from your tv to your receiver

This preventa lag and runing 4-8 cables from.each device to your receiver

Xbox Series X connection to older AVR’s

well the xbox series x has one HDMI port, so you would need to either upgrade your audio kit, connect tv via optical if supported or by a hdmi to hdmi/optical splitter which would then not pass through any hdmi 2.1 features.

Xbox One S not recognizing 4K capabilities through 4K Denon receiver

Hi, how do you have the optical cable routed, if you're taking it from the Tv to the A/V unit odds are you will only get stereo audio. The best option is to connect the optical cable from the Xbox to the A/V unit.

You would also of course need to go into the audio output settings on the Xbox and turn off HDMI audio and switch to optical audio.

Just had a quick look at the user manual for that A/V. It has 2 optical inputs so you could run one optical cable from the Tv to the A/V port that's marked as Tv Audio and run another optical cable from the Xbox to the optical input that's marked as Media
Player. You may also need to check the A/V unit is set to output digital audio on that Media Player port. That could be as simple as selecting the audio format on the remote control.

Xbox one Optical output for sound bar not working after update

To build off of Onyx's post, how is your sound bar currently set up? We recommend having the audio output go out via HDMI, and then connect the sound bar to the TV's optical audio port. Check the suggestion under 'Audio receiver with optical or soundbar'
    on our
Xbox One to Home Theatre support page
    .

Let us know if that helps!
