Audio lag for games but not apps

    Hey there, WhiteJohn43!

Do you currently have your console plugged directly into your TV, or are you connecting your console to an audio receiver? Also, we'd recommend performing a

    power cycle
on the console to see if this will resolve the issue.

If you continue to experience audio issues, then we'd recommend reading over the

Troubleshoot Sound on your Xbox One
guide for some helpful tips to help troubleshoot.

Let us know if these steps help, or if you have any other support questions.

headset output is selected, but it still plays through tv

I know what your talking about, but that option is comparing chat audio to game audio, not headset to tv. To clarify, the chat audio is fine and never lags; its the game audio

We have our audio set to "HDMI Audio 7.1 Uncompressed", our system is 7.1 and sounds great just worried about the lag caused by going through a receiver like the Panasonic manual recommended against because some receivers can add a few frames of lag. We
also have Optical Audio OFF and the Bitstream Format is set grayed out.

The 24Hz is under Video settings not Audio settings and kinda surprised that would create lag in a multiplayer game, it shouldn't affect a game at all or at least that's what I would have thought.

Bitstream audio lag on Xbox One X (but not for blu-rays)

I’m going through this on the Sonos support forum now. While I was running a couple of checks, I realised that I had it a little bit wrong here:

With bitstream, there is no audio lag when playing blu-rays and I do NOT tell the Xbox to allow the receiver to decode the audio.

There is audio lag when playing games with this setup.

If I tell the Xbox to allow the receiver to decode blu-ray audio and the audio is being output through HDMI, the audio plays but the blu-ray picture freezes. I don’t believe this is an issue with the tv or Sonos because i can still move through the pop-up
menus with the picture frozen in the background and the sound playing.

If I disable the HDMI audio and use the Xbox’s optical output directly, it works as per the previous (blu-rays fine, games lagging).
