1. Audio Issues when switching between Watching Time Warner and Digital Antenna on XBOX ONE

I have had issues lately that I cannot figure out and hope someone has advice.

I have a Cable Box and Digital Antenna for watching live TV thru my XBOX ONE connected thru my Surround Sound system and TV.

Occasionally we will want to watch a digital TV show that is not on cable so we switch to antenna in XBOX one - when we are finished and want to go back to watching Cable again, I switch to Cable in XBOX and when the picture comes up on my TV there is no
sound.

Now, there was sound just before I had switched to Antenna - and I had sound while watching antenna - but when I went back to Cable - sound disappeared completely.

I checked cables and installed new ones - no change - last night after getting frustrated and switching back and forth a few times, suddenly sound came back on.

This has happened a total of three times - and each time I lose sound it stays off for an extended period of time.

It's really puzzling and I am not sure what to do about it - hoping someone has had similar issues and figured out what the problem is?

A while ago when it happened I had Time Warner come out and change the cable box - and I got their most up to date box available, brand new out of the box.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

:)

Aspect Ratio randomly changes

Since I purchased the Xbox One I have had my Digital Cable through Time Warner hooked up through my xbox one and I have had no issues. Yesterday something happened while watching a movie on TV. I lost sound and the aspect ratio on my cable box kept switching
between 1080i and 480 every 30 seconds. With every switch the image would freeze so watching TV became impossible. I was able to watch netflix and play games with no issues so I assumed it was the cable box and called Time Warner.

A tech visited this morning and after working through a number of solutions we found that the cable box works fine when hooked directly to the TV, and the xbox one works fine by itself. I dont know what suddenly happened after a year of enjoying the tv going
through the xbox but something changed. Has any one else had this issue? Any solutions?

Issues with audo

We have been having intermittent audio issues with our Xbox One starting a few months ago. The problem arises when we are watching TV shows and it is switching between episodes. The tv will blink and then there is no sound once the episode starts. Or if
we are watching a movie and then stop to turn another movie on, suddenly there is no sound. We have noticed if we hit 'B' and then play again it usually fixes it but sometimes we have to go back 3 or 4 times before the sound will come back. Any advice? Thanks!

Using Audio adapter with HDMI and switching the HDMI input with an HDMI hub, will my Xbox restart?

I use an HDMI switch with my xbox and the same audio adapter you are purchasing and have no issues with the xbox resetting when switch between to 2 HMDI sources I have my XBOX and a Blue Ray on the switch.

Screen goes black or says that cable box isn't connected for 20-30 seconds when changing channel.

I found a work around to this issue.

On your sky box, go to settings - sound - you will probably see digital audio set to Dolby D. If you set that to "normal" and save it, it will stop that signal loss issue when switching from HD to non HD channels.

This is only a work around as you now don't get Dolby Digital sound from your sky box which is not great. I think there is an issue the way xbox handles the switch between Dolby and non- Dolby in non HD channels.

Xbox One and Frontier FIOS Motorola cable box - HDMI protection

I have been using Frontier with my XBox One for a long time now. I had to pipe Frontier directly into the Xbox vs. through the receiver ... but it does work well in this configuration. Optical audio out from the Xbox to the receiver for audio.

I have a harmony remote, so switching between various things isn't an issue.

TV Signal Freezes

I'm having the same issue -- I'm using Windows Media Center instead of a cable box, and when I switch to Live TV, after a few moments of playing, the system (video/audio) freezes and resumes a few moments later. (Time Warner in Ohio)

This also happens every time I start a video using "Recorded TV". For some recorded shows, the freezing happens multiple times.

I've swapped out all of my HDMI cables for new high speed cables and the issue persists. I've also followed the advice I found elsewhere to turn off the setting that lets Microsoft know about the programs I watch.

Kind of annoyed at this problem, especially since the Xbox One doesn't act as an extender :(

Basic question about 5.1 possibilities with xbox
Now If I wanted to hook both the tv and xbox 360 to the receiver would I have to change the input on the receiver every time I wanted to use the other?
That depends on what the source is for the audio. If you mean the TV's connected
to an antenna and you want to route audio from the broadcast to the receiver, it'll depend on the TV and receiver in question. With HDMI, there's the option for ARC (audio return channel), which allows the display device (the TV) to send audio back to the
receiver via HDMI. This allows one to use a TV's internal tuner yet still have the audio come out the receiver's speakers.

If there's no ARC, you would need to connect audio from the TV to the receiver and switch between the audio inputs depending on what video source you wanted to use (TV's internal tuner or 360).
