    Audio issue

Ok so I have been having an audio issue on and off for the past 3 months. I thought maybe it was my headset I had just got it fixed and they returned it to me and that’s when the audio broke but then I started testing it. I changed headsets and the audio
was still broken. I thought ok it must be the controller so I changed controllers and the audio was still broken. I even unplugged my controller and tried using batteries and it was still broken. Basically what is happening is my xbox is stuttering very loudly
on a never ending cycle until I unplug my controller. Sometimes it just plain outs doesn’t even work, sound just totally cuts out. What is happening? I can’t find anyone with this problem.

    :)

    Hi there Lich Lord,

So sorry to hear you've been having a frustrating experience regarding audio issues with your Xbox One S. Have you looked over the article for

troubleshooting sound on your Xbox One console
? If you've exhausted all of your options, including multiple troubleshooting steps, unfortunately you'll want to consider reaching out to the
Online Service Center to explore having your console repaired or replaced. I know it's not ideal, but that is not normal behavior for an Xbox One S (as I'm sure you're aware too).

    Audio Issue

    Hey guys,

I always seem to be the unlucky schmuck who has really rare or difficult issues with his Xbox console or games, this time my issue is that my audio when playing Xbox One games, some arcade games, and Blueray and 4K DVDs, doesn't work well. Basically, the
sound is fine for probably 75 to 80% of whatever I'm doing but if something loud happens or even when people are talking at a normal or low volume, the sound goes really bad like the volume is up too high or there is some kind of static interference so that
I can't understand what anybody is saying.

As an example, I bought my Xbox One S in a package with Mad Max Fury Road, which I'm sure is a good movie but since almost the entire thing sounds to me like a lawn mower I cannot understand anything that anybody is saying. I have been playing Tales from
the Borderlands lately and there are parts of that game where you need to understand what the characters are saying so that you can give an appropriate response but because even the quietest conversations will sometimes end up sounding like a bag of garden
gnomes being put through a wood chipper, I never know whether to punch someone or make a witty remark.

My console is a Gears of War SE Xbox One S, it's connected via HDMI cable to my HD (but not 4K) TV, I have tried the troubleshooting stuff on here already and that hasn't fixed anything, I've used three different HDMI cables and plugged them into each of
my HDMI ports on my TV and no change at all. I really hope that someone here can help. Thanks

Hey Nutella TM! Sorry to hear you're still running in to this issue. Does the audio have the stuttering issue if you're using the TV's speakers or only with the headsets? Are there any devices connected to the TV or console or positioned near them in the
room? Post back and let us know!

The audio is very weird, it is t consistent it sometimes just skips the whole stuttering and cuts out completely and I don’t know why it will fix itself after a while it’s very weird, maybe my Xbox is too cold and needs to warm up?

Hey Nutella TM! To troubleshoot, we usually recommend making the set up as simple as possible. Try removing the HDMI splitter and see if the issue sees any improvement. Post back and let us know how it goes!

I switched my hdmi and took the splitter out and it didn’t seem to do anything. The problem still persists.

I have just recently found that it only happens when I first turn on the Xbox, not later on while I’m playing, so I am thinking maybe it’s because it is too cold in my room or something I’m not sure if that plays a factor or not.
