Audio Glitch/bug

I was playing starfeild on my series x, decided to swap to YouTube and there was no sound. I have found that my games have audio, but when I exit the game my Xbox stops having all audio. No menu sounds no notification sounds and of course, no youtube. I get all audio from my headset just fine. Everything I find online is about the opposite problem. I did a hard reset, nothing, I did a OS reinstall and it's the same story. I really don't want to factory reset my console just to have to download games and not fix anything. How do I remedy this?
