Audio from headphones worked 2 hours ago, but not anymore.

I have wired headphones that I plug into the USB port of my TV to get sound from the xBox One instead of the TV's stereo. I was playing on my xBox using these same headphones for the last 6 hours, but took them out to plug into my laptop for a little.
I tried to put them back into the TV to play some more and I no longer get audio in them. The xBox registers that something is plugged in because it doesn't play from teh stereos, but nothing comes from the headset. I've also checked to see if they're muted,
they aren't, I've blown into both ports for potential lint, and it still doesn't work.

Try shutting the TV off and unplug it for a couple of minutes then try again to see if you get sound.

Yeah, I also have to restart(switch off and on) my TV from time to time especially with the AirPlay feature when it stops working. So annoying. Hope they bring out a firmware update.

Is your TV firmware up to date?

The same is true with MKV files encoded with h.264 and AC3 audio. Nothing will play in the Media Player app from my DLNA server. It was working an hour ago, but not anymore.

I Think you are asking this.

1. If you buy a DAC so that you can convert digital optical audio into analog so that you can plug it into your headphones and get game audio. Then yes this will work.

2. If you plug your 360 into your one via the HDMI passthrough will you hear your 360 via your headphones. Yes I think so.

3. 360 chat should still work as it has its own connection.

4. You could use Kinect for game chat on the ONE.

Another option would be to connect the headphones to your TV (either the headphone socket, analogue audio out or using a DAC to convert from digital audio depending on the connections on your TV)

On the Accessories app when I select Audio the levels have been altered. As i said to get decent audio from my headphones i need to have the controller audio and in game controller audio set to 100%. This suggests either an issue with the headphones [where
there was none before with regular xbox one controllers] or something with how the elite 2 handles audio. Can it be anything else?
