  1. Audio chat issues

I bought my son a xbox one s about 8 months ago. We have bought 5 pairs of head phones and within a week the mic stops working on all of them. All were brand new differnt version of turtle beach with exception of one and it was a off brand which actually
worked longer than anything. We can plug regular earbuds in and they work and mic works then all of a sudden they stop working. NO settings have been changed all updates have been done. We have also bought new controller cause we thought it was the contoller
and now it is doing the same thing. Anyone have any suggestions. All head phones work when plugged into other devices

    :)

    audio chat issue

    Hello ElectroFidgit,

My thoughts on this problem are that it is pretty unusual. I have friends who have used the Kinect to chat with other players on Xbox Live before. If your Kinect can recognize voice commands, then the mic should be working for voice chat as well. I do
not much about the Kinect microphone or voice recognition software but this link has helped me in the past:

I know you already read the FAQ on this issue, but maybe this link can help you further:

    support.xbox.com/.../kinect

Also, if this link does not help you further, you can contact Xbox Customer Support at 1-800-4MY-XBOX or you can speak to a representative online through the following link:

    Hope this helps.

    XP400 Headset on Xbox one

I'm having similar issues. Upgraded the firmware on the controller first. The headset works great for Game Audio wirelessly from the transmitter, but as soon as I plug it into the Microsoft Chat Adapter, game audio begins dropping out and chat doesn't function.
When I unplug the headset from the Chat Adapter game audio works great.

The chat adapter seems to be the issue.

    Any ideas?

I hear an echo in audio chat

I missed one thing: in addition to reducing game audio, I also reduced chat audio. Issue persists.

Streaming audio on Xbox series s with razor ripsaw

It sounds like you're encountering an issue with your streaming setup where your game chat audio isn't being captured when your headset is plugged in. Let's see if we can troubleshoot this and find a solution for you.

    1. Audio Routing: Check your audio settings on both the Razor Ripsaw and your streaming software (such as OBS or Streamlabs OBS). Make sure that the game chat audio is set to be captured by the Ripsaw and routed to your stream.
    2. Headset Configuration: Some headsets have their own audio settings or software that could be interfering with the audio capture. Ensure that your headset is set to output game chat audio through the same device as your game audio (usually the default audio device).
    3. Elgato Chat Link Cord: The Elgato Chat Link cord is typically used to capture game chat audio from consoles. Make sure it's properly connected between your controller and the Ripsaw, and that the settings on your console are configured to output chat audio through the controller.
    4. Audio Mixer: In your streaming software, check the audio mixer to make sure that the game chat audio source is not muted or set to a low volume level. Sometimes, the audio from different sources can be mixed separately.
    5. Test Without Headset: Temporarily disconnect your headset and see if the game chat audio is being captured by your stream. This will help determine if the issue is related to the headset or if it's a configuration issue with your setup.
    6. Update Drivers/Firmware: Ensure that both your Razor Ripsaw and Elgato Chat Link cord have the latest drivers and firmware installed. Sometimes, updates can resolve compatibility issues or bugs that might be causing the problem.
    7. Contact Support: If you've tried all of the above steps and are still experiencing issues, it might be worth reaching out to Razor and Elgato support for further assistance. They may have specific troubleshooting steps or solutions for your setup.

Hi there Gorthax welcome to the community forum! Christopher here, an Xbox fan just like you and has been on Xbox for years already. I would really love to make your day by helping you out. Yes, they changed it a few weeks ago, now some users have added some hardware to also be able to capture all the sound again! I sincerely hope they go back to the old settings!
