  1. Audio and Missing ports

I purchased the xbox series s recently in November and noticed that as well as it not having the disc trey, it is also missing the digital optical audio cable plug for some reason as well. Is there any other way to get the Series S to a Vizio sound bar or something of the sort? My monitor is a SAMSUNG curved but it didn't come built in with speakers and for some reason also has missing ports (it has 1xHDMI port, 1xUSB port, and 1xAUX/HEADPHONE Jack)

I am also posting this on reddit so I can get more help.

    :)

    Audio and Missing ports

Hello, My name is Jesse. I'm an Independent Advisor and a member of the Microsoft community and I'd love to assist you today.

Optical audio out is not supported by Xbox Series X|S consoles. Connect your console to your TV using the provided HDMI cable, and then connect your TV to your stereo receiver or soundbar using the TV’s optical (S/PDIF) out port.

    Major Problem w/ Audio

You might want to make sure that the spot into which the optical cable is plugged in the TV is not actually an Optical OUT port - Optical Out isn't that uncommon, but optical in ports are not terribly common. If you have an Optical-In, make sure your cable
is plugged into the input that is paired with the Optical In. Most times, there will be several video-in ports, but only one audio-in for things like Optical or 3.5mm.

The reason you are unable to get audio while set to DVI is because DVI is a video-only protocol - HDMI carries both audio and video, but not DVI, which will then require a separate channel for the audio. You are on the right track with the optical cable,
we just need to figure out where your settings are missing the mark now!

Xbox 360: Audio playing through TV not headset

The Xbox 360 controller does not support game audio to be played through the controller's audio port.

The audio port is only built for headset voice chat.

    Xbox one red light

That is an audio port for high quality audio.
