Audio Adapter Disables HDMI?

So I got a new turtle beach x41s and I also bough an audio adapter for it.

The xbox is setup to play through HDMI but as soon as I plug that adapter in the xbox restarts and seems to want to play through the non existent RCA display instead. How can I change it so that it plays through the HDMI over the RCA?

    :)

    Chat Audio Through Headset Only?

I record gameplay and don't want chat audio mixed with my game sound. How do I disable chat audio through the HDMI output? I only want it through my headset via the Headset Chat Adapter, thanks!

xbox has no microphone attached but says there is one and is heard by other people

More than likely the adapter is causing feedback through the system. So far as I know there is no way to disable the audio input on the console. I would suggest either replacing the adapter or finding a different way to connect the console to the monitor.

    Audio Adapter Disables HDMI?

    Hey there Its Only Godz!

Sorry to hear about the issue! Are you able to test this on a different Xbox 360 console? If you are able to try a friend's or family member's console, this would help us narrow down the issue to either the adapter or the console.

Post back the results if you're able to try that! Audio Adapter Disables HDMI? :)

    Hey thanks for replying.

I've tried it on a second xbox and got the same results. Once the adapter is plugged in it will flash every 5-10 seconds as if it's trying to boot up, not finding a digital output then restarting but I don't actually see anything on the TV.

I'm assuming this means I have a busted adapter?

It looks like the adapter may need to be replaced. I recommend getting in contact with the retailer you purchased from to exchange it. Also, I would try an adapter from a different brand.

Hope that helps! Post back and let us know how everything goes. Audio Adapter Disables HDMI? :D

I can sort of connect my xbox 360 my monitor

You need the thin AV audio adapter that comes with the original HDMI AV kit. You can usually find used adapters on eBay or perhaps even at GameStop. The adapter provides left/right audio as well as optical audio while enabling the HDMI port for video.

Devices plugged into the AV port determine what video output the 360 uses. Wedging a regular AV cable with video into the AV port, alongside an HDMi cable, confuses the 360, disabling HDCP. This may be causing the monitor sync issue you're experiencing.

How many of you use the S-Video Cable?
Nope, got an HDTV, would like to use HDMI, but headsets like turtle beach require you to use component
No, you can buy the HDMI Audio Adapter for Xbox 360. Plug in both the Audio adapter and HDMI cable (Audio Adapter is made SLIM enough to fit with an HDMI cable)
