    Attention Supervisor or head Tech Support. Problem with 2 step verification


    Currently on xbox series x with account in question. I changed password 11-19-20 when I setup xbox series x and Do Not Remember Password. If I ever get signed out of my account or need a replacement console I will lose access to all my games.

    Problem with 2 step verification is Microsoft no longer uses voice verification phone call option. Not able to recieve text message over landline phone so not able to get 2nd security code.

    On 12-09-20 I contacted support, given info about recovery process, I am hearing impaired and have difficulty with phone calls. Do Not have 25 digit recovery code. Account might be locked from my many failed login attempts. How long does that lock last?

    Account over 10 years active, have many games connected to account.

    Please help so I dont lose everything.

    Signing in and 2-Step Verification problem

    Sorted it (I hope), I viewed this thread
    support.xbox.com/.../no-prompt-security-code

    and it took me to an <almost> identical page to one that I was being directed to but it didn’t have the 'App Passwords' bit at the bottom. I've been given a password but I tried it on the XboX before I clicked on 'OK' on the PC.

    I'll try again in a while to see if it works.

    Here is how you get a new app password.



    1.Sign in to your Microsoft account. (www.outlook.com)

    2.Under Password and security info, tap or click Edit security info.

    If you're prompted for a security proof, enter it and tap or click Submit.

    3.Under App passwords, tap or click Create a new app password.

    A new app password is generated and appears on your screen.

    4.When you’re prompted for your Microsoft account password on your Xbox console, enter the app password that you created online.



    After you sign in with your app password, you're all set to use that app or device. You will use this new app password to sign in to your device instead of your Microsoft account password.



    That should let you access your account to download it from Xbox LIVE.
