Attempting to purchase DLC using Microsoft Points

I am trying to purchase a DLC pack for Mass Effect 2 using Microsoft Points. However, every time I select the DLC pack, it is reverting to money. Is there any way to change it so it is using the Points?

When you are attempting to purchase content, there should be an option to change the payment option. You should then be shown a list of payment options, which should include one labeled "Microsoft Account: $x.xx" Your Microsoft Account balance is essentially
what use to be your Microsoft Points.

At this time, there is no way to pay to a partial amount using your Microsoft Account balance. You must pay in full with whatever payment option that you choose.

Therefore, there is no way to pay say $5 of a $10 DLC using one payment option and then use another option to pay the remaining balance.

Using Microsoft account to purchase DLC?

No, it's not a question of balance - he has £15 on his Microsoft account and the dlc he wants is less than £3. So any other suggestions please....?

When I attempt to purchase through Xbox.ca using either Microsoft Points or my credit card, or when I attempt to purchase content through my Xbox using a credit card, I simply get the message: "Sorry Your purchase cannot be completed at this time. Please
try again."

Now, for some reason, when I try to use Microsoft Points through my console I do get the error code: 80153410.

Thailand is not officially supported by Xbox LIVE, you won't be able to purchase Microsoft Points using a Taiwanese credit/debit card or PayPal account as your region is not supported by Microsoft.

The only way you'd be able to add points or gold membership to your account is by using a prepaid code purchased from a retailer that's meant for a Singapore account. You can attempt to purchase the DLC after you've redeemed points on your account but if they
don't work or don't download you'd be at a loss as you've been told that this content is region locked. Having a region free copy of the game doesn't exclude downloadable content on the marketplace from being region locked.

Hi,

If you're trying to purchase the game using your console press "X" on your Xbox 360 controller. The purchase screen should change to Microsoft Points, then attempt to purchase the content.

Big Buck Hunter, based on your experience so far, it sounds as if when attempting to purchase via the in-game store, it is redirecting you to make the purchase while using the game in the Xbox (Beta) app. Once it brings up the app, have you attempted to
log in with your Microsoft account and navigate to the store area within the app to attempt to make a purchase for the DLC?

As this game title is a bit older and originally for Windows 8, it is possible that the DLC may no longer be available for purchase via the Microsoft Store if you're unable to find it via the store area of the Xbox app or at microsoft.com.

Give the troubleshooting a try and let us know the results.
