atmos pop when returning from home button

    Hey all,

I just reinstalled my Xbox one x because I got a new Dolby atmos Sony soundbar. My Xbox one is hooked up to my TV and trough earc connected to my soundbar.

Everything's working fine, but in some HDR games like red dead redemption 2 or ac origins, whenever I press the home nbutton so the overlay shows up, and I exit that, I hear a pop sound. In ac origins this happens really loud (and sometimes not), in rdr2
you can hear it real quick.

    1. I have atmos enabled, does this mean my Xbox is breaking my soundbar because of the pop sound?

    2. I do not have this on my ps4 pro hdr games or non hdr games. Is this a known issue with atmos?

    3. I reinstalled my TV and Xbox already for a second time.

    :)

Xbox one feed back more entertainment stuff then games

There is a battery status bar. When you are on the home screen, hit the home button again and it will pop up on the bottom right.

dolby atmos not working in games and netflix

    Hiya,

    Thank you for your responses

It still says multichannel pcm input on my amp, not atmos, this is even when I try running an atmos demo in the atmos app which says that atmos for home theatre is enabled.

Yet if I put a disk in i get atmos sound

Netflix Not Outputting Dolby Atmos On Xbox One

If everyone here can do yourself a solid so we can hopefully get this brought to awareness at the Xbox team. Go to Netflix or AppleTV. Play a video, confirm it's on Atmos. Hold the Power button on your controller (Big glowing X). Select "Report a Problem". You will need to go to Other / Media related. From there, do the option that allows it to "trace" your steps. Then from here, it is now recording what you're doing and logging it for the dev team there. From here, go to your settings, show it's set as Dolby Atmos for Home Theater. Go back into Netflix (or AppleTV) and play content that supports Atmos, I usually choose any generic Netflix branded TV series as most offer Atmos. Go to "Audio" of the video when playing, select Atmos and then allow to play for a moment. Then press the Power button on the controller again, click "Report a Problem" and finish the reporting query.

You will need to explain what's happening, I simply plugged a Keyboard into my Xbox Series S and typed in the issue.

It sounds like a lot of work, however Atmos is already rare in the Home Theater world, and in the Xbox space it appears to be a very small niche as well. We need a bit of "Reported" incidences to occur for the dev team to notice it and see what could be happening.

    Dolby Atmos random cut outs

    Hi LakeLad,

I split your response and created a new thread for you so we can assist you directly and not on an older thread.

Is the Atmos symbol popping up randomly when you're playing or using your Xbox? Do you use Atmos for headsets or for a home theatre system?

To start off I would suggest a
    power cycle
    to your Xbox.

    1. Turn off the Xbox One console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds until it shuts down completely.
    2. Unplug the console's power cable. Wait 5 mins.
    3. Plug the console power cable back in.
    4. Press the Xbox button on your console to turn on the Xbox One.

Give that a try and let us know if the symbol is still popping up on your screen.

    Notifications issue

Sometimes, I'll hold the guide button down when the notifications pop-up only to have my controller automatically turn itself off or bring up the shut-down prompt instead. It's one of the things I don't like about "hold [guide button] for more details" or
double-tapping to switch from a snapped app - with the Xbox 360, all you had to do was press the guide button once and it worked every time without fail. The last console was consistent with it's guide button, this one not so much, and it's all in the name
of returning back to the home screen quickly... Quite frankly, I think it should have been designed in such a way that you only had to press it once rather than hold it down whenever there was a notification on-screen. If you wanted to go home, you would have
to wait until the notification was gone. Or they could have designed it so you press the guide button once with notifications, but have to hold it down in order to go home; then if you wanted to turn off your console or your controller, you simply held the
button down from the home screen (and to return to your open game or app, you simply used the tiles on the home screen).
