    Atmos on home cinema system

Picking up on a thread, when connecting a 3.5mm chat headset to my controller it disables Atmos support for the whole system. This is despite headset audio being set to stereo and nothing connected directly to the Xbox one x, as soon as I disconnect chat headset it works fine. Surely this must be a bug or a glitch. (For clarification I am not using a atmos enabled headset or a headset for any sound other than party chat, I only want atmos through HT)

Dolby Atmos on XBOX ONE X connected to DENON X3600H

Very popular receiver, have one too. No atmos for game support and Arcing atmos back introduces too much latency.

Apparently the issue rests with microsoft as Denon has updated the firmware to anticipate the new, updated version of Dolby atmos home cinema for games or “low latency atmos” so it’s called. The One X supports the regular cinema profile.

Dolby Vision and Atmos are now fairly fragmented formats, makes me wonder if Microsoft should ditch them and go DTS:X moving forward.

    Another Audio question

as long as the optical on the home cinema system is an input.

First: Thanks for the info! You gave me more info than DENON, XBOX/Microsoft, and Dolby combined!

Secondly: Where did you find that info? As DENON, XBOX/Microsoft, and Dolby seem not to know!

If Microsoft goes with DTS:X, that fine, as long as they keep Dolby Vision. Our DENON’s can handle it! :^)

    Thanks again!

If you could guide me towards that info, that would be groovy!

Xbox One 5.1 Surround not working properly

ok, never mind I got it to work.

apparantly when using HDMI ARC the digital input is automatically turned off. once I turned the ARC off in the home cinema menu I got it to work connecting the optical cable directly into the home cinema system.

it seems that only an mpeg bitstream is not supported.
