ATMOS and DTSX Support.

Will you please add ATMOS and DTS X support. I have capability for both and it sucks not being able to playback the audio in it's native format off of UHD Bluray's. I understand that not everyone has it but it makes a world of difference for those of
us that do!!

UHD Atmos via One S to a non 4k receiver and 1080p TV

Hi,

I was about to upgrade my PS4 as I'm running out of space. But it occurred to me I could get an Xbox One S as a future upgrade to UHD.

My current gear is not 4k but is atmos/dtsx. I'm getting frustrated with blurays not containing the 3D soundtracks

If I get an Xbox One S and plug into my amp presumably it will downscale to 1080p but retain the Atmos/DtsX soundtrack?

If so I think that would swing me to getting one!

Dolby Atmos on Netflix

Dolby Atmos and Atmos for headphones are two different things. Netflix does not support Atmos for headphones as far as I am aware

 

I don't understand why many people are not voicing concerns. Almost all 4K movies come with atmos or DTS-X. It's unacceptable Xbox one S which is marketed as a 4K player won't support these formats. Microsoft should fix this quickly.

 

I am also in agreement here. I have a full 7.2.4 setup and was forced to buy a stand alone player for my UHD discs. If by some miracle Microsoft fixes this in the next 30 days I can return the player and save $320. They are in a great position to sell a
bunch of consoles to home theater guys with a full UHD capable player and game console thats cheaper than stand alone units. It is exactly what helped the PS3 at the time it dropped to $400.

I would love this feature to be added to the Xbox One S, as well. They've got a history of adding things in (3D Bluray Playback) that their fans demand, so I really hope we get this sooner rather than later. I don't blame them for not having it at launch,
but it would really increase the value of the system.

 

I agree Dolby Atmos would be great. I have been thinking about getting and Xbox One S for playing 4K Blu Ray. But at have not because it does not support this.

 

It was announced a few weeks ago that Dolby Atmos support will be coming to Xbox One in a future update.

It has been released this week for Xbox One Insider program members. Insider program is invite only. I'm trying to get someone to invite me because I don't want to wait until April to have DTS HD-MA, DolbyTrue HD, and ATMOS support. I was extremely upset
when my Xbox One wouldn't bitstream the formats to my A/V receiver and now that this is out, I really want it!

I'm on the preview program and can confirm it's beta stage but I've not got it to work with any of my Atmos/DTS-X movies yet. Soon as I hit play from the menu I get a loud click through my speakers and no audio once the film starts.

Atmos/DTS-X works fine on PS4 and my stand alone br player. Hopefully another update is due before public release cause at this stage it ain't ready.
