lol, speaking of Pong my 6 year old son was playing yesterday and having fun. He was playing Little Big Planet 2 on the user made levels and when I walked in to check what he was playing he was playing a level that was just like Pong.

 

Pong is something that everyone can enjoy. Not sure I'd spend hundreds on a console dedicated to to but it's one of those ageless games definitely.

 

Wow, the condition is pretty impressive. must've been buried in something and I guess there isn't a lot of moisture.

Ya, the landfill is in the desert, so moisture is not really an issue, so the condition is expected to be somewhat decent. The movie is set to launch later this year on 360 and X1. I can't wait to check it out.

vote, I was singing that very song last night along with 'Let it go'. I don't do justice when I sing but some tunes are just too catchy to pass up on. I heard that movie did so well that it made a near 1-billion profit :-o

 

Yeah I heard about this and thought they were joking when I saw a picture of a couple. I first though that they just randomly found two, but then I started hearing they found multiple other copies. Interesting for sure.

 

Has it been explained as to why they ended up there? I mean landfill I understand but I don't get why just a huge batch of games would be dumped there.

 

Atari was in financial trouble. The ET game lost them a lot of money. It was probably cheaper to dump all their unsold stock in a landfill than get rid of it by other means. Also, the ET game was considered one of the worst games ever so they probably
thought the best way to disassociate themselves with it would be to bury all the remaining copies. That's just my guess. We'll probably find out more in the documentary they're doing.

 

The Atari employee who thought he chose a clever place to hide this hideous abomination of a game is slapping his forehead. He and Atari was hoping this would have been long forgotten about. But no, it's rearing it's ugly head once more. Maybe they should
have dropped the box into the Indian Ocean.
