At what time does the warranty period start

At time of purchase or when you set up the system? System bought from ebay, still sealed and in new condition.

Spoke to someone about this further and the controller has been sent in under the console warranty. Now waiting to see what happens next.

 

problem to trigger xbox one warranty

my xbox one was purchased at a major supermarket in Brazil on October 4, 2017. Today, July 17, 2018, I tried to trigger the console warranty however the microsoft system informs me that my console is out of the warranty period. It turns out that the warranty
is one year, so my advice should be within the warranty period. Microsoft's support system does not allow me to trigger my consele's warranty. There is no microsof store in Brasília - Brazil. I am unsupported from microsoft and with consele catching .. Please
someone help, as a microsoft does not have a good support for xbox in brazil

 

What I would do if I were you is go to
account.microsoft.com/.../add-more-devices

Then register the xbox SSN and what not. That will then show you a link "show warranty info" and it will then tell you

From my own experience Microsoft generally start the warranty on a brand new Xbox from the first time you actually connect the system to Live.

However in some circumstances for example if the warranty period isn't showing correctly on the service centre website ( this has happened in the past ) you may be required to provide proof of purchase, that may be an issue but only if you were to purchase
the Xbox lets say tomorrow and not actually connect it to Live for a few weeks/months.

If you are considering purchasing from Ebay ensure the system is new as you could have problems registering the Xbox if someone else already has the system registered in their name.

 

Thank you. The seller said it was brand new, sealed and that it was only purchased a few weeks ago. I wasn't sure at the time when the system was originally purchased. And if it was over a few months, I would lose that portion of the warranty.
