    At random times I can't hear people talking but I see their names/icons lighting up.


    Basically I will be playing a game.. for the past week it's been PVZ Garden Warfare. I will be talking to a friend or someone I met in game, then I'll hear a noise that sounds like the cord for my mic came unplugged a little, even though nothing touched
    or pulled it and its still firmly plugged in, and I won't be able to hear anyone anymore. everyone I have asked/talked to about it says it happens to them too and it all started when the preview for the march 4th (now march 7th) party chat update was released
    to the people who signed up for it. I have tried a hard reset unplugging Xbox from the brick for various times. I turned off my controller and turned it back on, but nothing seems to work. Sometimes I get back on and I'll be able to hear people for a while,
    but it always stops picking up voices. If I call someone on Skype I can hear them and the same goes for party chat (although I can only talk to one person who also has the preview of the party chat update), so I'm thinking maybe it's a problem with PVZ's servers?
    But I have no idea. I just want to know f anyone else is having a similar issue, and more importantly, if they have found a solution to it. Also worth mentioning, one of my friends has the same problem but she only has to turn her controller off and back on
    and that fixes it for her.

    As of two days now I have been able to hear any audio from party chat. I'll invite my friends and see their icons light up when talking but can't hear a thing. They can hear me talk. I also have no problems talking to them in game chat but once we go to
    party chat, nothing.

    I am having the exact same problem. only, I haven't been able to get it to work at all! I can't hear a soul, and no friends to test if party chat works. same problem in pVz but I've also tried killer instinct to no avail

    Been happening to me for months and nothing seems to fix it. Ive used multiple iphones on wifi / data and its the same. Sometimes it works just fine, other times i cant hear anyone yet i see their icon light up while they talk. Smh.

    Just to expand upon what BHC Bluez n 2z said about people talking: I will occasionally have people on my team who are talking but it usually sounds like they're talking to someone they know, not random people they got teamed up with. That having been said
    if you see someone with the megaphone icon next to their name, chances are they have a mic on and will talk if others speak up. A lot of people are just waiting for someone else to speak first.

    Just be careful you don't scream at someone who has that icon and doesn't talk back. I had headphones on, with no mic, a few weeks ago and some guy cursed me out because he thought I was ignoring him. LOL

    How do I check if my mic is working in BF4?

    Couple possibilities, one is most people are in party chat, two is people don't talk and to see if yours is working, next to your name in game see if the mic icon has waves coming from it when talking. Also only your squad (green) can hear you, no blues.

    Also it may not be a NAT problem because my friend can still tall to his other friends and even random game lobby people. The only problem that's put of the ordinary is that he can't hear me but I can still hear him and talk to his and random people as well
    that can hear both if us.
