Ok so keep in mind, when it comes to technology of any kind, I am a complete idiot. So if any of this turns out to be common knowledge the I'm sorry in advance. To get into it, I recently bought a series S but have yet to get any real use out of it due to a whole host of issues, I'm just going to list the one's I've encountered here:

takes a while to connect to my internet, despite going through all the "test your network connection" etc and it saying everything is fine it still acts as if I'm offline, online centric games saying I need to be connected to the internet to play even though I can scroll through my friends list as well as other things, can't connected to friends parties, can't start my own, games saying that "there's a problem with our servers" even if there isn't, certain apps won't load at all saying they "encountered an error" or simply staying blank, won't sync data for other games and lastly, random disconnects.

What's worse is that these issues happen most of the time but not ALL of the time and I'm having none of them when I use my old Xbox One. Could the solution simply changing to a wired connection or am I barking up the wrong tree?

Server connection loss issues with Xbox Series S

Hi MJBou, my name is Rodrigo. I'm an Independent Advisor and a member of the Microsoft community and I'd love to assist you today.

I am sorry to hear that.

You can use your device IP on the DMZ of your Router.

    There are great guides online*:

    https://www.windowscentral.com/xbox-one-dmz-guide

    https://www.ubisoft.com/help/connec...article/setting-up-dmz-for-xbox-one/000061024

There is also this complete guide about NAT errors and configuration on the Xbox website, I recommend it:

    https://support.xbox.com/help/hardware-network/connect-network/xbox-one-nat-error

    ----------------------------------------
    Setting the DMZ
    ----------------------------------------

    ----------------------------------------
    A) On your Router
    ----------------------------------------
    1. Make sure to use the ethernet cable connection, it is more reliable than the Wi-Fi one. (If possible)

    2. You then, have to assign a static (fixed) IP for your Xbox console on your router, which will enable you to do the next steps

    3. Turn on DMZ under the IP you selected for your Xbox Console.

    4. Turn on UPnP on your router

By doing that, you'll pretty much have an open and direct connection to the game servers.

    ----------------------------------------
    B) On the Xbox Console
    ----------------------------------------

    Configure the network settings accordingly.

    Enter the Settings menu.

Under the General tab, select Network Settings then Advanced Settings.

Take note of the information displayed

    Select IP Settings > Manual.

Enter the same IP you configured on your router DMZ.

Xbox Series X on a monitor

    Hi,

This is the same monitor as I have. I mainly use it for my PC, but I've also connected my Series S to it too. Unfortunately, you won't be able to select 1440P and 120Hz on the LG 27GN850 as it tops out at 100Hz on HDMI at 1440P.

The work around is to change the resolution to 1080P and then select 120Hz. Games on the Series X will still render at 4K but be super-sampled down to 1080P. Yes, it's not as good as the native resolution, but the loss in picture quality shouldn't be that
noticeable. I'm pretty impressed how my Series S looks on it.

    0x803f8001 Error Xbox Series S

you cannot use disc based games on the series s, you need the disc in the drive to authenticate and prove you own the game. as the series s is all digital you would need the series x to play disc based games.
