    Asus (Modems/Gateways): Firmware
    Login Information

    • Gateway: 192.168.1.1
    • Username: admin
    • Password: admin

    How to Find Firmware Version

    1. Open a web browser on a computer.
    2. Type the gateway address “192.168.1.1” into the web address bar.
    3. When prompted for a username and password type in “admin” for both the username and the password.
    4. On the left hand side of the web page select the “Advanced Settings” option.
    5. Click on “Administration” subcategory.
    6. On the top click on “Firmware Upgrade” tab.
    7. The current version of the firmware will be shown next to “Firmware version”

    Note: You will need to download the firmware from the ISP website or the manufacturer’s webpage.

    1. Connect a computer to the gateway using an Ethernet cable.
    2. Open a web browser on a computer.
    3. Type the gateway address “192.168.1.1” into the web address bar.
    4. When prompted for a username and password type in “admin” for both the username and the password.
    5. On the left hand side of the web page select the “Advanced Settings” option.
    6. Click on “Administration” subcategory.
    7. On the top click on “Firmware Upgrade” tab.
    8. Click on the “Browse…” button to locate the downloaded file.
    9. Once you have found the firmware update off the computer select it.
    10. Click on the “Upload” button to begin the process of uploading the firmware.
    11. Wait for the upload to finish.

    4. Locate the “Firmware Version” On the top of the router configuration page.

    Note: You may need to download the firmware from the ISP website or the manufacturer’s webpage.



    1. Connect a computer to the router using an Ethernet cable.
    2. Open a web browser on a computer.
    3. Type the address “192.168.1.1” into the web address bar.
    4. When prompted for a username and password type in “admin” for both the username and the password.
    5. On the left hand side of the web page under the “Advanced Settings”, click on the “Administration” option.
    6. On the main page select the “Firmware Upgrade” tab.
    7. Click on the “Check” button next to “Firmware Version”
    8. If a new version is found, a message will prompt you to update.
    9. Alternatively you can download the latest firmware from the manufacturer’s website to your computer.
    10. Click on the “Choose File” option.
    11. Locate the firmware you downloaded to your computer and select it.
    12. Click on the “Upload” button.
    13. Wait for the upload to finish.
    14. The router may reboot after it is done uploading the firmware.
