    • Gateway: 192.168.1.1
    • Username: admin
    • Password: admin




    How to Find SSID (Network Name)



    1. Connect a computer to the router with an Ethernet cable.
    2. Open a web browser on a computer.
    3. Type the address “192.168.1.1” into the web address bar.
    4. When prompted for a username and password type in “admin” for both the username and the password.
    5. On the main page locate the “System Status” section on the right hand side.
    6. Make sure the “2.4 GHz” tab is selected.
    7. The current Wireless Name (SSID) will be shown there.




    How To Find Wireless Passphrase (WPA/WEP)



    1. Connect a computer to the router with an Ethernet cable.
    2. Open a web browser on a computer.
    3. Type the address “192.168.1.1” into the web address bar.
    4. When prompted for a username and password type in “admin” for both the username and the password.
    5. On the main page locate the “System Status” section on the right hand side.
    6. Make sure the “2.4 GHz” tab is select.
    7. The current Wireless Passphrase will be shown under the “WPA-PSK key”.




    Changing Wireless Security Type/ Disabling Wireless Security



    1. Connect a computer to the router with an Ethernet cable.
    2. Open a web browser on a computer.
    3. Type the address “192.168.1.1” into the web address bar.
    4. When prompted for a username and password type in “admin” for both the username and the password.
    5. On the main page locate the “System Status” section on the left hand side.
    6. Make sure the “2.4 GHz” tab is select.
    7. Under the “Authentication Method” dropdown box, select the “WPA2-Personal” method.
    8. Under the “WPA Encryption” dropdown box select the “AES” option.
    9. Under the “WPA-PSK key” type in the desired password.
    10. Click on the “Apply” button.




    MAC Filtering



    1. Open a web browser on a computer.
    2. Type the address “192.168.1.1” into the web address bar.
    3. When prompted for a username and password type in “admin” for both the username and the password.
    4. On the left hand side of the web page under the “Advanced Settings”, click on the “Wireless” option.
    5. On the main page make sure the “Wireless MAC Filter” tab is selected.
    6. Next to the “Frequency” dropdown box select the “2.4GHz” option.
    7. Next to the “MAC Filter Mode” dropdown box select the “Enable” option.
    8. Under the “MAC Filter List” type in the device MAC address you would like to add.
    9. Click the “Add” button on the left hand side.
    10. Click on the “Apply” button.




    Change Wireless Channel



    1. Connect a computer to the router with an Ethernet cable.
    2. Open a web browser on a computer.
    3. Type the address “192.168.1.1” into the web address bar.
    4. When prompted for a username and password type in “admin” for both the username and the password.
    5. On the left hand side of the web page under the “Advanced Settings”, click on the “Wireless” option.
    6. On the main page make sure the “General” tab is selected.
    7. Next to “Frequency” select the “2.4GHz” option.
    8. Next to the “Control Channel” select the desired channel.
    9. Click on the “Apply” button.




    Change Wireless Mode



    1. Connect a computer to the router with an Ethernet cable.
    2. Open a web browser on a computer.
    3. Type the address “192.168.1.1” into the web address bar.
    4. When prompted for a username and password type in “admin” for both the username and the password.
    5. On the left hand side of the web page under the “Advanced Settings”, click on the “Wireless” option.
    6. On the main page make sure the “General” tab is selected.
    7. Next to “Frequency” select the “2.4GHz” option.
    8. Next to the “Wireless Mode” select “G Only”.
    9. Click on the “Apply” button.




    Change Wireless Band (Width)

    1. Connect a computer to the router with an Ethernet cable.
    2. Open a web browser on a computer.
    3. Type the address “192.168.1.1” into the web address bar.
    4. When prompted for a username and password type in “admin” for both the username and the password.
    5. On the left hand side of the web page under the “Advanced Settings”, click on the “Wireless” option.
    6. On the main page make sure the “General” tab is selected.
    7. Next to “Channel bandwidth” select the “20MHz” option.
    8. Click on the “Apply” button.




    DHCP Reservation



    1. Open a web browser on a computer.
    2. Type the address “192.168.1.1” into the web address bar.
    3. When prompted for a username and password type in “admin” for both the username and the password.
    4. On the left hand side of the web page under the “Advanced Settings”, click on the “LAN” option.
    5. On the main page select the “DHCP Server” tab.
    6. Go to the bottom of the page under “Manually Assigned IP Around the DHCP list” section.
    7. Under the “MAC address” dropdown box select the Xbox's MAC address.
    8. Under the “IP Address” option type in the current IP address for the Xbox.
    9. Click the “Add” button on the left hand side.
    10. Click on the “Apply” button.




    UPnP



    1. Open a web browser on a computer.
    2. Type the address “192.168.1.1” into the web address bar.
    3. When prompted for a username and password type in “admin” for both the username and the password.
    4. On the left hand side of the web page under the “Advanced Settings”, click on the “WAN” option.
    5. On the main page select the “Internet Connection” tab.
    6. Locate the “Basic Config” section.
    7. Next to “Enable UPnP” select the “Yes” option.
    8. Click on the “Apply” button.




    DMZ



    1. Open a web browser on a computer.
    2. Type the address “192.168.1.1” into the web address bar.
    3. When prompted for a username and password type in “admin” for both the username and the password.
    4. On the left hand side of the web page under the “Advanced Settings”, click on the “WAN” option.
    5. On the main page select the “DMZ” tab.
    6. Type in the Xbox’s current IP address in the “IP Address of Exposed Station” box.
    7. Click on the “Apply” button.


    Disable DMZ



    1. Open a web browser on a computer.
    2. Type the address “192.168.1.1” into the web address bar.
    3. When prompted for a username and password type in “admin” for both the username and the password.
    4. On the left hand side of the web page under the “Advanced Settings”, click on the “WAN” option.
    5. On the main page select the “DMZ” tab.
    6. Remove the current IP address in the “IP Address of Exposed Station” box.
    7. Click on the “Apply” button.




    Port Forwarding



    1. Open a web browser on a computer.
    2. Type the address “192.168.1.1” into the web address bar.
    3. When prompted for a username and password type in “admin” for both the username and the password.
    4. On the left hand side of the web page under the “Advanced Settings”, click on the “WAN” option.
    5. On the main page select the “Virtual Server /Port Forwarding” tab.
    6. Locate the “Basic Config” section.
    7. Next to “Enable Port Forwarding” select the “Yes” option.
    8. Locate the “Port Forwarding List” section.
    9. Under “Service Name” type “Xbox”.
    10. Under the “Port Range” type in “3074”.
    11. Under the “Local IP” drop down box, select the Xbox’s current IP address.
    12. Under the “Local Port” type in “3074”.
    13. Under the “Protocol” drop down box, select “both” or “TCP/UDP”.
    14. Click on the “Add” button.
    15. Click on the “Apply” button.


    Disable Port Forwarding



    1. Open a web browser on a computer.
    2. Type the address “192.168.1.1” into the web address bar.
    3. When prompted for a username and password type in “admin” for both the username and the password.
    4. On the left hand side of the web page under the “Advanced Settings”, click on the “WAN” option.
    5. On the main page select the “Virtual Server /Port Forwarding” tab.
    6. Locate the “Basic Config” section.
    7. Next to “Enable Port Forwarding” select the “No” option.
    8. Click on the “Apply” button.




    Firewall



    This device has firewall settings but none that apply to the Xbox.





    How to Find Firmware Version



    1. Open a web browser on a computer.
    2. Type the address “192.168.1.1” into the web address bar.
    3. When prompted for a username and password type in “admin” for both the username and the password.
    4. Locate the “Firmware Version” On the top of the router configuration page.




    Firmware Update



    Note: You may need to download the firmware from the ISP website or the manufacturer’s webpage.



    1. Connect a computer to the router using an Ethernet cable.
    2. Open a web browser on a computer.
    3. Type the address “192.168.1.1” into the web address bar.
    4. When prompted for a username and password type in “admin” for both the username and the password.
    5. On the left hand side of the web page under the “Advanced Settings”, click on the “Administration” option.
    6. On the main page select the “Firmware Upgrade” tab.
    7. Click on the “Check” button next to “Firmware Version”
    8. If a new version is found, a message will prompt you to update.
    9. Alternatively you can download the latest firmware from the manufacturer’s website to your computer.
    10. Click on the “Choose File” option.
    11. Locate the firmware you downloaded to your computer and select it.
    12. Click on the “Upload” button.
    13. Wait for the upload to finish.
    14. The router may reboot after it is done uploading the firmware.




    Restore Factory Defaults



    From Hardware:

    1. Locate the back of the router, where the Ethernet ports are located.
    2. Hold the reset button on the back for 30 seconds. You will need a paperclip, toothpick or pen to hold down the reset button.
    3. Let go of the reset button and wait about 1 min for the device to reboot.


    From Firmware:

    1. Connect a computer to the router using an Ethernet cable.
    2. Open a web browser on a computer.
    3. Type the address “192.168.1.1” into the web address bar.
    4. When prompted for a username and password type in “admin” for both the username and the password.
    5. On the left hand side of the web page under the “Advanced Settings”, click on the “Administration” option.
    6. Click on the “Restore/Save/Upload settings” tab at the top.
    7. Click on the “Restore” button.
    8. Wait for the router to reboot. This may take up to 1 min.




    Entering PPPoE



    1. Connect a computer to the router using an Ethernet cable.
    2. Open a web browser on a computer.
    3. Type the address “192.168.1.1” into the web address bar.
    4. When prompted for a username and password type in “admin” for both the username and the password.
    5. On the left hand side of the web page under the “Advanced Settings”, click on the “Administration” option.
    6. On the main screen, under the “Internet Connection” section, click on the “WAN Connection Type” drop down box and click on “PPPoE”.
    7. For “WAN IP Setting” and “WAN DNS Setting” sections, these may be left to “Automatic” unless your ISP specified otherwise.
    8. Under the next section in the “Account and Detailed Connection Setting”. Enter in the “User Name” and the “Password” provided to you from your ISP.
    9. If any additional ISP specific settings are required, choose the related options and make the changes as needed.
    10. Click the “Apply” button.




    Known Issues



    There are currently no known issues with this device.





    Multiple Console Support



    We have confirmed that this network device is unable to support more than one console with an Open NAT.

    Recommended Wireless Router for Xbox live (360 and ONE)

    I own the ASUS RT-N66U Gigabit Router, works GREAT!!! I highly recommend it. If you're looking for a 2014 model the ASUS (RT-AC68U) is your best bet.

    I had the exact same problem with my 360 and my new AC68U after running a connection test. I followed the step by step instructions here to flash the UPnP and it worked. You have to make sure that you reboot both your modem and router each time that you
    disable and enable UPnP as well as rebooting your console with UPnP both off and on so the NAT tables can reset. Make sure to reset the console network settings to factory defaults first.

    And I can't play to only XBOX, but also to XBMC, which worked OK on my previous Asus router:(
