    i should start by saying, i’ve owned a pair of a40s for a while now. i just recently bought the mixamp. and up until now my a40s have worked perfectly fine just by plugging them into my controller. so this isn’t an issue with my headset or my controller. this is either the mixamp or the xbox itself. so i recently got the astro pro TR mixamp; i got the firmware updated for my series x and all that jazz, plugged it back up to my xbox. i do get sound, and i can hear my mic monitoring coming through, but for whatever reason, the xbox is not registering that i have a microphone. i started a party just to test it and, yeah, not working. visited the xbox help, no solutions. tried to set up a new device, no dice. looked on youtube, and i did find a really janky solution there. however it requires that i have an AUX cable... which i do not have. so i’m curious if anybody else has had this problem or at the very least knows of a way that i can fix this.

    Can’t hear in-game voice chat.

    It’s not connected to my controller. Although I have tried that as well. But I have an Astro A40 connected to a Mixamp pro TR which is connected to a Astro Audio Extractor. ( Since the new consoles don’t have an optical port) and the Audio Extractor is connected to my series X and TV.

    Everything worked fine with this setup until about 3 weeks ago. Around the time the Series X had a firmware update.

    Thank you for posting on the Xbox forums. I'd be happy to help.

    If you have troubleshooted the Astro equipment already, then I'd recommend troubleshooting the console itself as well. First,
    go ahead and do a
    hard restart and power cycle
    . Hold down the power button on the console for about 10 seconds until it shuts down and then remove the power cable from the Xbox and the power outlet for about 5 minutes. Then re-connect and wait 60 seconds before turning on
    the Xbox.

    If that doesn't help then you will need to try out a
    soft factory reset
    .
    1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
    2. Select System > Settings > System > Console info.
    3. Select Reset console.
    Make sure to select "Keep my games & apps" and have the correct account login information plus your Wi-Fi password ready if you connect wireless because you will need to re-add the account's that were on the Xbox and re-connect to your network during the
    reset.
