Astro M80 Mixamp Only Work When Controller Is Plugged Into PC

I just made the switch to PC gaming, but I will still be using my Xbox Elite 2 wireless controller. I use the Astro A40s with the M80 mixamp that plugs directly into the controller. When I have the controller plugged into the PC via USB everything works fine including volume and the mute button. However, if I try to use the controller wirelessly via bluetooth it seems the M80 mixamp stops working. When I press the mute button nothing happens no lights or anything. Is there a way around this? When I use the same controller and headset/mixamp wireless on my Xbox One everything works flawlessly. Any advice?

    :)

I'm getting the same thing. Which headset are you using? I'm using an Astro A40 with MixAmp M80.

    New astros

Yes Gh0stz is right. There are currently two new version of astros. The one we all know, which comes with the mixamp and another designed just for Xbox One which uses it's own adapter into the controller instead of the xbox one adapter. The M80 only outputs
stereo because it's done via controller, not optical port.

I was under the impression the M80 was staying stereo though?

What headset do you guy's and girl's use?

I had an older pair of Astro A40s that I used on the 360. Boy do they last. I did get a new pair of Astros for Christmas though. The ones with the M80 mixamp and I love it.

Xbox One Astro a40 with M80 Mixamp?

You answered my question and now I think I can answer yours as well lol The actual headset itself is capable of producing the 7.1, you just can't do it with the M80. You'd need the MixAmp Pro to do that.

And so I decided, the Astro A40 2015 edition is literally a complete scam, a huge waste of money. $199+ for a sterio headset? Not happening. Better off spending the extra $50 and getting the other headset instead with 7.1.

I talked with a chat member on the Astro site and he recommended that I just buy the original and not waste my money on the newer version. Plus, the M80 runs off of the power from the controller itself as well, unlike the other Astro headset with can be
plugged into your system, this one doesn't work like that. So I could only imagine people who run wireless controllers will be constantly changing their batteries then. Huge let down imo.

Astro A40 with M80 mix amp not working since March 30 update

have you tried the m80 and a40's on your friends controller on his xbox? i use this same setup and mine all still works fine, have you got a cable to try plugging the a40's directly into a controller to see if it works without the mixamp?
