Assigned to Other Console

Hello everyone,



A very Happy New Year to you!



I redeemed a download token for an Avatar shirt the other day via Xbox.com, only to find now that it was stuck in my download que with the error ¨Assigned to other console.¨



Just over a month ago, I replaced my Xbox 360 Pro console with this Xbox 360 E console, and I followed the online instructions and spoke to an Xbox Support agent about purchasing content from the new console to make it your account's primary console, however
it appears that this did not work.



Does anyone know how to set my Xbox 360 E console as my primary console so any content I redeem via the website will be assigned to it and to prevent this error message?



I'm assuming the Content License for the Avatar shirt I redeemed is now incorrect and associated with my Pro console?

Smwutches is definitely on the right path but before you did the license transfer I would have called customer support. Reason why, since you do not own that XBOX anymore the agent would have un trusted all consoles under your gamertag except for the new
one, then you do a license transfer and it usually goes a lot smoother that way not requiring the extra help that XBLRewards4 was talking about. So if you did not do the license transfer yet please call customer support first. It's not something you want to
experiment with as you can only do a license transfer once every four months and if it goes wrong it stinks to have to wait the 4 months

im downloading something via computer and when i look at my active downloads it says "assigned to other console" and i reacently change xbox 360 consoles due too my old one breaking so dose this mean it's just dowloading from my computer or is it being downloaded
to my old console

Disregard, as I believe I've resolved the issue by following the instructions I found

here.

My only remaining question is with respect to content licenses. The Avatar shirt I attempted to download and had the "Assigned to Other Console" message appear, is its license tied to my previous console or my current one?

Note I did a console license transfer over a month ago when I got my Xbox 360 E console, however this Avatar shirt was a new redemption of a few days ago.

On the 360 the license is tied to the first console it's downloaded on, reguardless of which console the download is assigned to.

Thank you for your reply! So to confirm, it would be licensed to my current Xbox 360 E console since the "Assigned to other Console" error came up when I redeemed the code online, correct?

 

Yes, it'll be assigned to the console it was downloaded on.

To stop the "Assigned to another console" message, queue up a download, then on your active downloads list on the console select the download by pressing A and choose "Download All Items".
