I sold my xbox one a year or so ago and have not been active. My gamertag name was USMC 0302 DUDE under the email address of *** Die E-Mail-Adresse wurde aus Datenschutzgründen entfernt. ***.

When I bought my new xbox one S, I logged into the gaming system using *** Die E-Mail-Adresse wurde aus Datenschutzgründen entfernt. *** and it assigned me a new gamertag, which zeroed out my points, gaming history, and previous purchases. The new gamertag is .

I would like to get access to mu USMC 0302 DUDE account and play from that profile. Is there anything you can do or recommend?

Why did I have a weird wrong xbox 360 gamertag?

You probably created a new gamertag instead of signing on with your existing one.

The gamertag creating is faster now as it gives you a random gamertag. You are able to change it for free within 30 days of creating the account.

XBOX Live Family Account - Adding a childs current gamertag

I just upgraded my xbox live gold account to an xbox live gold family account. In the process of adding my son to our xbox gold family, it never gave me the option of adding an already existing gamertag. It just assigned him a new gamertag and windows
live ID. My son has had an xbox live membership for about a year. It just expired. Instead of renewing his gold account membership, I upgraded mine to the family account. Is there a way for me to add my son's original gamertag to our new family account?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

so you have to recover your old account

It doesn't generate a new account unless it's a new account or you didn't login for 5years

You are going to have to work.withj support to figure out the original sign in

It would be xbox support by going to support.xbox.com/contact-us

It sounds like the email you had on the old account was a different one then what you signed in with if you contact xbox support and give them your gamer tag for your old account and they can verify ownership of the account they should be able to tell you
what the email address for the account is.

if your in the US then you can contact xbox support by phone at 1800 4 my xbox

Well I appreciate the response. So basically I did make an error when I inadvertently "signed up" my actual email for the xbox live part after creating the microsoft account since it assigned a random gamertag. I assumed I had to do this to use it with my
xbox and at no point did it say it would assign a gamertag after logging into the xbox site with the new microsoft account. Also, I think the example in the link confused me because it had 2 accounts with gamertags active and not just one account transferring
to a new one.

Anyway, the final step was what I already knew and what I linked at the beginning of my post ... so hopefully it actually lets me transfer the gamertags at some point instead of giving me an error message again.
