Assassins Creed: Unity reviews starting to pop up

Just another reason why none of these devs/pubs get a single red cent from me until after released/reviewed. This industry is going down the crapper when it comes to quality control.

 

I preordered it and so far I'm enjoying the game immensely. Glad I don't bother with reviews at all. The verticality is back along with new and the insane ways with which Arno can traverse the environment. Now I just need to get me a spear and some heavy
armor and I'm all set.

 

I'm actually getting this for Xmas off the wife, hopefully they would of patched it by then. Glad Rogue is doing well, I will have that tomorrow or Friday. Farcry 4 is another one I'm getting for Xmas, I'm confident that will be OK.

 

I'm willing to look past it's short comings, but NPC's popping in and clipping issues are really bad though especially for a game that is supposed to have high production values.

 

reports are the frame rate drop to 30 on xbox one and below 20 on ps4

 

^^Uhh that makes no sense at all. The game runs at 900p 30fps. DF analysis have both dropping into the 20s. I think it even hit 19 on PS4 once.(Not positive) Overall it sounds like a mess of a game fromba technical standpoint.

 

It's a bit of a weird one tbh. Some reviews are saying it has game breaking bug's like falling through the floor, crashing, framerates dropping to near stand still. Other review though don't mention these bug's, only the framerate gets a mention by most,
some say it's really bad and some say it's only just noticeable.

I have only given up on one game due to horrible framerates, that was Fallout 3 on the PS3.

 

@Goat playing a Bethesda game on PS3??? That is just hilarious. Its like they didn't even try to make the games work on PS3.

 

It was one of the most horrendous things I've ever witnessed lol.

 

This game came bundled with my brand-new Xbox One. If I'd read this thread before firing it up, I probably would not have given it the benefit of a doubt. I'm not that far in, but I'm playing along just fine and enjoying it every step of the way. I did
have one stretch of frame stuttering when trying to climb in a place where I wasn't meant to climb, but it was very brief and so far not enough to stand out from any other videogame I've ever played. The facial renderings are a tad "plasticy" for current
gen. The city environment is beautiful. I've noticed a couple individual NPC pop-ins, but not to the point of distraction. There are a
lot of NPCs in this game.

The controls as much smoother for me than in AC II, and maybe a little more so than Black Flag, the only other AC games I've played. I'm not fond of the idea of requiring play on a companion app to unlock the chests in the game, but I
can either easily ignore that for now, or, who knows, maybe someday I'll download the app and see what it's about.

I have read of a few gamers who have had some technical issues, but unless and until I encounter a progress-stopping problem, I'm hooked on the story and loving the game play. I haven't tried any co-op yet, and maybe that's where problems arise. I don't
know. I love the new mystery-solving missions. They are a welcome new twist.

 

Like Sigma The DJ - We had high hopes too & pre-ordered & downloaded the game but we have had nothing but issues - credits not being issued, glitches, game making whirring sounds & shutting down, etc. Xbox say they cant help and cant get hold of anyone
from Ubisoft......I think we should have got Rogue before Unity

 

Man did I laugh at one of the videos I saw of a glitch. Some dude was looting a dead body and 2 members of the public flew past as though they were on invisible mobility scooters. I cried it was that funny lol. I have to say I am still looking forward to
this. I'm a huge fan of the franchise so I can ignore a few bugs.

 

My first impressions of it are actually good, but I've only played it for about 45 minutes. I haven't experienced any bugs yet, but obviously it's very early days. The framerate did dip quite badly at one point when I was running through the streets, although
it only lasted 2-3 seconds before it went back to normal ("normal" is not exactly great though, but the game is definitely playable).

The only thing I didn't like are the chests that you can't open unless you use the companion app. It's a really cheap way to get you to do that and I hope they patch that requirement out.

Obviously, the game does have issues and many players are experiencing game-breaking bugs, but hopefully Ubisoft will do their best to fix it. There's supposedly another patch in the works that fixes some stuff.

 

well ive played a few hours and im really enjoying it havent realy noticed any problems and the game looks amazing

 

^ Agreed. Now that I have played it for a small while I am rather enjoying it. That doesn't mean I cant understand other peoples issues with it, I just mean that from my experience, I have luckily had no dips or breaks yet.
