Assassin's Creed PIRATES crashing on Win10

just to be clear this post is regarding the Win8 game for PC and WP, Assassin's Creed Pirates, not AC4BF for 360 and One.

ok so I just tried to boot this game on a fresh install of win10. just loads the logo (which is an image like the fullscreen game tiles on xbox one) then crashes with no messages or anything. I checked another ubisoft support thread that was referenced on
trueachievements, and it only mentions black flag, not pirates. those are exe games, not win-app style installs. I have had some problems with games not loading over the course of the win10 builds (I stay in the fast ring for preview updates), but currently
I am running a 32-bit "stable release". [1709 build 16299.371] I'm not sure this ever ran on win10, which is why I saved a win8 installation on one partition.

Forget Assassin's Creed. Do you like pirate themed games. If you do, then this is the game for you.

My problem with Assassin's Creed 4 Black Flag was that it was a wasted opportunity. Instead of taking a risk to create a new (Pirate) IP. They cash grabbed a solid pirate game and used the Assassin's Creed name.

Imagine having the Black Flag mechanics, with Dragon Age/Mass Effect style party/crew recruiting for your ship. Being able to board and take any ship and make it yours with total ship customization. That is only the surface of my ideas for what Black Flag
could have been.

And that is why I personally frown upon Assassin's Creed 4 Black Flag. It was a fun, solid game. But a garbage Assassin's Creed

Let's try resetting the app using the following steps:

1. Open the settings app.
   
2. Navigate to System/apps.
   
3. In the system sub-menu, navigate to Apps and Features
   
4. Search for the app in question.
   
5. After selecting the app, select advanced options.
   
6. Tap reset.
7. You may now re-open the app once more
