Assassin's Creed Odyssey - Game/Disc Query

Hello fellow gamers and a Happy New Year to you all

I recently received help from the forum having lost my 'Odyssey' disc and not sure if a new one would integrate with my saved game data - Many thanks for that help there.

However.....

Out of curiosity, I started the game and after updating itself, I have so far completed the final 'Elysium' quest, the 'Valhalla' crossover quest and am about to return Herodotus to Samos after he received word that his parents have died - All of this with no disc inserted!

As I am an Older gamer, am I missing something? I mean, you can't even start up 'Valhalla' before it asks for the disc...

I have posted this on Facebook and got one reply - 'Lies' (which totally sums up some people - I've got better things to do than lie about a game!)

The only definite thing I can say on the matter is that it is NOT a digital copy of the game - Definitely a disc, bought by my wife and now lost!

If you haven't bought it digitally, then that usually means someone else has your console set as their Home console so you are accessing the game by sharing it trough them.

Hi there and thanks for your reply, however I have the only console in the house (there's just my wife and myself at home now) and I have no connection to any other console or account.

The mystery (for the moment) remains.

Does your Xbox properly recognize the disc? If it does, Assassin's Creed Odyssey will appear at the bottom of the list of games in the guide.

To everyone:

The disc reading feature is fine.

It reads the discs.

That's not the issue.

I tested it out by uninstalling and reinstalling Assassin's Creed Odyssey and a few others.
