Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag (Xbox 360 version) - Why not in Xbox One if already exists ...

Hi Guys,

well, I've jumped in the new world of Xbox One in the last few days...

I know that there's a list about games of Xbox 360 that can run even in Xbox One so I won't ask if the X or Y game which is not included in the backward compatibility list will run anyway... but...

Why a game like Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag, which already is on Xbox 360 and Xbox One (I have the first version, for Xbox 360), it's not downloadable in the version for the One having the disc of the Xbox 360 version?

I mean... 50 € to buy the game for Xbox 360 and now I can't playing it on One? I should buy the one for Xbox One?

It isn't an old game which requires time to make it compatible, it already exists for both consoles......

Please someone help me understand... XD XD

Playing Deadfall Adventures on the Xbox 360 and Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag on the Xbox One.

 

Will They Ever make it backwards compatible?

To be fair, there are plenty of games to already have a Xbox One counterpart, where they still made the 360 version backwards compatible. Call of Duty: Ghosts and Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag just to name a couple. That's not even counting the Xbox 360
titles that became backwards compatible when there was already a remastered version released on Xbox One.

The Backwards Compatibility feature was added so gamers could enjoy some of the older titles on the next generation platform. So you pretty much answered your own question. Titles such as Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag were released on both consoles (360
and One) so the game does not need to be made Backwards Compatible, since it already exists on each generation.

Also, from a developer standpoint, why would they allow the 360 version of the game to be downloaded on a platform that you can purchase the game on? That's not only bad business but would make a lot of people who purchased it on the One very angry.

 

Even if a game was later re-released on xbox one, from 360, I don't think they'll make the saves & dlcs cross compatible either.

Plus cross buy doesn't exist for either console, never did, but few games support it.

 

Why must we have to repurchase the game for xbox one if we have the 360 version only if it is a money grab ploy by Microsoft. It makes no bloody sense.
