I played the first 3 games, got every achievement in all 3, and that was it. I had no more interest in the series. I just wanted something new. It also amazes me how many Ubisoft games incorporate the same mechanics.... climb a tower and more of the map
are exposed. Far Cry, Assassin's Creed & Watch Dogs all had this.

I'm not at my console so I can't remember what the proper name for the barge attack is... but you can buy it after Sequence 5 if I recall. It's a shoulder charge. Hold A to use it. Maybe you spent your skill points in poor areas Dark Assassin7O.

I do like the limited Eagle Vision in Unity, for sure. It's the first game that the feature has had genuine use, and in the story it reveals that using it for extended periods can mess Arno up. See: The scene in the Bastille cells, and every scene before
an assassination attempt when he reviews the area. You can upgrade its distance and length with better hoods, and expensive hood upgrades.

Because it's useful you want it on for as long as you like. Removing the challenge. Because the diamond skill system puts you at a disadvantage, when facing numerous or same/greater skilled enemies, you want a counter insta-kill move that negates the challenge.
Aren't you the same dude who confessed to modding your Gamerscore to get the 100% sync achievement on Assassins's Creed III... and you "accidentally" pinged cheevs on older Assassin's Creed games?

I'm a fan of Assassin's Creed. Never played the multiplayer so where I lack completions it's voluntary, heh ha. I think the new more challenging direction to the series is a good thing. You have to plan your way around dangerous areas/enemies, or end up
in a fight you'd rather not be in. The combat is more akin with Assassin's Creed 1, and there is actual progression and things to work for... in previous games we kicked butt day dot, with abilities weighing us down, and expansive loadouts, and
we weren't challenged by anything but mission parameters/side challenges and stealth sequences.

Now you pick your loadout. You have to play to upgrade. You can't beat every enemy or group of enemies in the game from the beginning - there are dudes almost as skilled as you are, and they hang out in numbers. I can see where
Ubisoft would lose some fans with these changes, but I think the game is better because of the changes. See how long it lasts. I noticed the shanty song sheets in Rogue moved at a
laughable snail's pace. Maybe because people complained they couldn't catch the ones in Black Flag, so Ubisoft made catching them easier in Rogue.

Feedback can become design by committee, which can be bad, IMO. {XD Especially since, online, a seven year-old can compose some coherent feedback, like,
"the shanties are too hard to catch" - it doesn't mean a pub/dev should take note and make changes. Heh ha.

I thought the first 3 assassins Creed games were really good. Only now picked up Black Flag but am starting to enjoy it. Hoping Syndicate will be even better

Assassin's Creed Games. Present to Old Titles. (Xbox 360 & Xbox One).

The first was the best as there were no such game-play back then. Subsequent titles just seems to be a re-hash of the previous one.

Assassin's Creed is...was my favorite game franchise. The yearly releases are really putting me off. They don't allow us to miss the franchise. And the story is getting really convoluted.

My personal favorite is... well... I would say in this order.. Brotherhood, AC 2, AC 3, Revelations, AC 1, Black Flag, and Rogue. The handheld titles are not very fun and couldn't finish Bloodlines or Liberation.

I personally feel that Black Flag was a HUGE missed opportunity for a new proper Pirate IP. Instead, they cash grabbed.

Imagine the very smooth mechanic's of AC: Black Flag. Having a Dragon Age or Mass Effect style recruiting system for your crew. Obviously, you start off small. As you continue to pirate the seas and ran sack ships. You could then take a larger ship if
you so choose. Even a Man O' War if you so choose. Also have the ability to have full ship customization. The possibilities are endless.

INSTEAD of risking a new IP, Ubisoft cash grabbed a much wanted pirate game and used the AC name and we got AC: Back Flag. And I will forever frown upon AC: Black Flag. It could have been so much more

    Argontheos,

No I didn't come into the series late on. I was in from day one - I like the Assassins Creed series because each one is different. Every time the setting of the game has changed. They didn't do that with Rogue. Rogue was essentially as I said black flag
but from a slightly different point of view - it didn't give the progression I was after.

I've just started playing Unity (got a little burned out after Black Flag) and so far I must say I'm really enjoying it. The grind for the chests is going to be a pain in the backside - but it won't be as bad as the flags in the first Assassins Creed.

DarkAssassin - If you're still playing Unity, you need to head to the menu and have a look at your customization. Each item of clothing has different attributes. Some carry health, others have the ability to carry more smoke bombs/cherry bombs etc. So you're
able to customise your char to the way you want to play.

Sure you won't get any insta kills, but you can still parry and damage. They just made the game a bit more tricky. Which is a good thing in my opinion!

Downside to Unity so far? As mentione by Argon, I miss the Human shield ability, and the climbing/descending isn't as intuitive as it used to be!

Still enjoying it though. Bring on Syndicate

Cool man. I was around from game one too! =) But I still don't get why you think "Rogue is essentially Black Flag". lol

One is about an Assassin-turned-Templar who almost single-handedly wipes out the North-American Colonial Brotherhood in order to, as he sees it, save the world from their bumbling, anarchic way of dealing with things they barely understand - leaving one
old cripple in charge of a pile of graves.

The other is about an erstwhile Welshman seeking fortune as a freedom-loving privateer/pirate whose ideals are co-opted by the Brotherhood to serve their own ends, and who ultimately comes to share their vision when, he thinks, he fully understands the gravity
of what is at stake. Namely... the freedom of all mankind.

Shay [Rogue] is the man who worked with Edward's [ACIV] son, Haytham [ACIII], in destroying the North-american Brotherhood [ACIII]. They're all connected. The old cripple is the man who trains Haytham's son Conor [ACIII] who rebuilds what Shay destroyed.

One could argue the only game in the series that added nothing was... Revelations. Desmond was trapped in a nexus of nothingness, and it ignored all the first-civilisation stuff brought up in AC1, 2, and Brotherhood, and that stuff was only picked up again
in III. Revs was slammed for being a filler game.

But that's your favourite one? lol C'mon maaaaan. Whaaaaat? {XD Heh ha.

Argontheos? Yes this is the same person who stupidly and Accidentally unlock the 100% Sync Achievement in Assassin's Creed 3 by Mod.. And as for the older titles, I work on those achievements by playing normal... But please realize this was at least 2 or
3 years back... And also, Ever since I been trying to complete my save in Assassin's Creed 3 by Normal but being too much interrupt with Xbox One Video Game called: Destiny with the House of Wolves DLC.. And I also pre-order Payday 2 Crimewave Edition on Xbox
One Digital and I am planning to pre-order Elder Scrolls Online Imperial Edition for Xbox One.. So, I think it will take some time before I go back to Assassin's Creed 3..

And I can see you played Rogue... Since you know the story very well... Nice! And my most favorite one from the past was AC Brotherhood and Present is AC 4: Black Flag.. I enjoy that game still... But slowly AC Unity is starting to become one of my great
games now.. Thanks to you.. I purchased The Shoulder Attack and Sword Strong Attack.. Both should break the enemies Defense if I correct hopefully.

  9. Sean2383? Yeah I knew about the Clothes and Armor that could change your Character Stats but a lot of them are heavily Expensive.. Like it requires me to play one of those Highly Skilled Co-Op Heist Missions for a heavy amount of Money.. Recently I purchased
a Belt to increase my health once more.. But I need to start upgrading my Skin Health where I can take less Damage.. And as for the Human Shield Ability, I was trying to wonder what did that mean.. But I remember from AC 3, Liberation and AC 4: Black Flag
you can use the ability to grapple someone before you get shot by a Firearm.. It's rather disappointment that it is not in Assassin's Creed Unity.. But probably means that during that Time Period.. The Assassin Arno did not learned how to use the skill or
    Ubisoft simple scrap the ability..

  10. I still get into AC games even though they aren't as good these days. I loved 2, Brotherhood and IV a lot, but the AC3 was just eh. That ending really got on my nerves for how lame it was. Liberation was also a messy game, at least it was for me. Aside from
that, I still enjoy the games somewhat. It's just that after I'm done with them, I have no interest in ever playing them again.

    Argontheos,

I'm not saying that Rogue wasn't a different story. It was, and it was nice to see Ubi come at it from a different angle. But each AC game has been set somewhere different offering new scenery etc. Rogue was essentially another game where you need to sail
around, attacking ships to get resources to grind out and level up your ship.

Unity was the change of scenery I needed Assassin's Creed Games. Present to Old Titles. (Xbox 360 & Xbox One). :)

Dark, if you haven't already. Do the missions to upgrade the Caf. The final one pays like 25,000 - but more importantly they increase the earnings. As does buying the other social houses. I haven't yet played any of the online stuff, the guy I normally work
through these games with is taking an AC break which is pain in the ***.

Dr. I agree with you that they aren't games to go back to once they have been finished. Occasionally the Online Multiplayer is amusing - but normally by the time I get round to coming back to them another AC or COD game is out and the online multiplayer
    community has died.

Still bring on London (should just about be finished with Unity by then)

  12. Sean2383? Thank you for the heads up.. I went to check and see if The Cafe was fully upgraded and it wasn't.. I was missing one more upgrade.. But I am still missing to do the Cafe Missions.. If you are talking about missions and not the upgrades.. Sorry,
And I still haven't completed all The Cafe Missions. And as for Social Locations.. I still haven't got all of them yet..

Mmmyeah... I still don't get why this case is one that stands out for you. You said 'if you've played IV don't bother with Rogue. But it seems better advice would be if you liked IV play Rogue, if you didn't like IV, don't bother with Rogue. The games share
mechanics, and that's about it, but settings...

Assassin's Creed IV is set in the Caribbean, and across cities like Havanna. Assassin's Creed Rogue is set in the North Atlantic, and in cities like British Colonial New York. There are few setting changes that could be more stark than that. I mean, c'mon,
not many icebergs to avoid in the Caribbean.

UK Tourist Board: We have beaches here in England... if you've been to one of those don't bother going to Brazil! It's basically just the same old crashing waves and sand, and, y'know... grinding for that golden, even tan. {=D

I've recommended Rogue on these forums so I've kinda gotta defend that recommendation. Heh ha. Otherwise I'd just drop it. Heh. =)

I'm glad the scenery has come back to Europe too though. I've kinda always wished they hadn't jumped from the Crusades to the Renaissance and skipped a bunch of cool events with the cool 'medieval' trappings though. But industrial London should be good.
I hope they come up North a bit. The heart of industry wasn't exactly in London, that's just where all the wealth got sucked up and spent. Like today.

  14. I've never been able to get used to the camera in the Assassin's Creed games. It seems to be at a slight angle. So when I think I am about to make a sweet jump from a rooftop into a pile of hay, I instead splat onto the cobbles next to it.

I'm glad you find AC4 awesome, that's the one I have! I haven't started playing it yet but my friends who have it like it and actually prefer it to COD (we'll see if I agree). My brother has the other ones so I may be borrowing them when I'm done with 3.
