Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China available now

Did anyone know this game was coming out?? I was completely surprised to see this all of a sudden unless it's just another remake from another platform but it sounds more like a mobile game that was created for the Xbox One...hmm

Assassin's Creed Chronicles: India is a standalone purchase and is not included in the Unity Season Pass. All three planned Chronicles will be available as standalone purchases. You can still get Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China even if you didn't purchase
a Unity Season Pass.

I didn't realise it was 2.5D side scroller which actually has me a little more interested as I'm kind of tired of the main games, I didn't get Unity or Rouge.

 

I am downloading it right now. I knew it was coming. It looks very unique, as well as a n new interesting style of gameplay amd art style. But it is not refreshing enough. Here is my issue....

I am a huge Assassin's Creed fan. I own (not boasting, just trying to show my admiration for the franchise) every Collector's Edition game and strategy guide, as well the encyclopedia's.

Assassin's Creed has a very unique story. But Ubisoft is just pumping this AAA title out at an unprecedented rate. They are not allowing us to miss the game! Part of enjoying a game is the build up to the release, finishing the game, and talking with
friends about what could be coming and when the next iteration is released.

Ubisoft as well as us (including myself) are flat out running this franchise into the ground. Assassin's Creed is not like Call of Duty. It is not a twitch shooter where you need a new "fix" (so to speak) every year. Assassin's Creed Victory may be my
last "Day One " purchase. After that I will start getting them used so they are not getting my money. I have had just about enough of the multi game yearly releases.

 

^Completely agree mate and I'm much like you in regards to how much of a fan you are of the series, I have all the achievements for the whole series on the 360, black flag onwards is where I lost a lot of interest and still haven't gotten my completion on
that on IV. =(

That's why I'm liking the look of this new AC, should be something a little different from the yearly releases they've been doing. I never thought I'd feel this way about the series, but I'm no longer buying the main games.

 

I've played them all but only paid for AC4, which was 20 bucks. I played the rest of the games through my girlfriend's and cousins' games.

Chronicles looks interesting. I'm not getting it to keep my AC budget of all time at 20. #MLG #SavingDough [tag:Hashtag]

Maybe in the future when it goes on sale. I'm looking forward to Victory too.

 

Yeah, looking forward to this one strangely enough! Simply, but looks like fun. Its part of a trilogy that will be released by Ubi

I've been with AC since day dot, and has always been one of my top games that I just cannot get enough of That being said, DigitiaAssassin, my fav so far would actulaly be pirates, I've only just started playing it, and i'm in love! haha

 

^I did really enjoy black flag, don't get me wrong though it was still nothing compared to Altair's and Ezio's saga in my opinion. I also enjoyed the time period and location of those games much more than AC3 onwards.

That's why I like the look of this China one, I'd also love an old setting in Japan or even back to ancient Rome or something. I think the location and time period will really dictate which games I buy in this series now, a little over the revolution stuff
which is why I wasn't too keen on unity.

 

My problem with Assassin's Creed 4 Black Flag was that it was a wasted opportunity. Instead of taking a risk to create a new (Pirate) IP. They cash grabbed a solid pirate game and used the Assassin's Creed name.

Imagine having the Black Flag mechanics, with Dragon Age/Mass Effect style party/crew recruiting for your ship. Being able to board and take any ship and make it yours with total ship customization. That is only the surface of my ideas for what Black Flag
could have been.

And that is why I personally frown upon Assassin's Creed 4 Black Flag. It was a fun, solid game. But a garbage Assassin's Creed

 

^That's actually so well said and I completely felt that way without being able to articulate it! Brilliant pirate game, terrible assassin's creed. Edward hardly felt like he had the true roots of an assassin. That's why I loved Altair, he was born into
being an assassin and it was his way of life.

 

Yup, well said Its just that I've been looking for a decent pirate game for so long now, and nothing has delivered since the ol' Sid Meirs Pirates lol I totally agree though, if they had of pulled it from AC and made it a stand alone game, it would have
been a masterpeice. The main reason it is my fav AC is simply due to me itching for a decent pirate game. Otherwise, I'd struggle to pick a favorite AC, I still remember playing the first one, and how blown away i was with it. I spent ages just walking through
crowds and admiring the way he smoothly walked through them all the only part I didn't like about the first one were the flags haha man they were a pain!

I downloaded AC China last night, so can't wait to get home and give it a spin

I really like the look of it too, gonna jump in. To be honest I'm easily pleased with the series, I loved Unity. I didn't get any major glitches or bugs and thought it looked and played smooooth.

Yeah the first one was amazing all those years ago. Looked stunning. Flags were definitely a killer though lol

Also I would be interested in everyone's opinion when they get around to playing it! I don't think I'll be playing it for a while as it will be Destiny most of this weekend and then State of Decay next Tuesday.
