Assasins creed black flag multiplayer help

Hey me and my friend want to play Assasina creed black flag together online. it is very confusing. Can someone please explain me detailed how we can play together Online? xbox one. Thank you so much! Waiting for a reply!

You and I are in the same boat, buddy, and it's sinking. Multiplayer's too complex and just bad all around IMO. I say don't bother with it and just stick to the single-player.

 

best way to play Black Flag in multiplayer, is too choose the single player option, it always works, plus its a thousand times better.

 

So I can play single player with my friend? That's what you're saying? How?

 

No.There's Wolfpack mode in multiplayer which is a co-op mode but the actual story is single player only.

 

Okay, but how can I play it with my friend? He's home with his console and I'm at my home with my console. How can we play together so we are playing with or against each other? Can you please explain me detailed? I just want to end up being with him running
around, not with other people. I really don't understand how. I'm new to xbox one.

 

Main menu,click on multiplayer,then either custom match or Wolpack then once you pick what you want to play,(Unleashed in Wolfpack) then there will be an option to set the game up as private,do that & it will create a game that you can invite your friend
to with no one else bothering you.

It's been a while since I've played it but I think that's pretty much it.
