Upon checking here, Asphalt 9 requires an Internet connection, if you don't have an Internet connection you will get an error that says no internet connection available.

I am not sure why this would work. Those addresses are google's:

teck.in/google-public-dns-ip-address-8-8-8-8-and-8-8-4-4.html

I didn't see a reason to upgrade from Windows 7 SP1.

backup whatever windows you got now to a disc before the install.

I've been using it since yesterday, haven't had much time to play around with it.
