Asking for membership on different console

Is the gold actually tied to your account? If you didn't purchase the gold on your account, you can only access the gold on the console that is set as the gold member's Home console.

Is it possible that you used someone else's Gold membership that was shared by your console via the "Home Console" feature?

If someone else with a Gold membership signs in on your console, and plays with you, or even sets your console as their Home Console, the console will share that account's Gold membership to everyone playing on that console.

So you could be able to play online Multiplayer without having a Gold membership, and after you factory reset the console, that Home Console assignment was removed. In that case you'll have to ask the owner of the Gold membership to set your console as their
Home Console again. (Beware however, that there is a limit of 5 Home Console settings per account per year)

Gold memberships are tied to the account they were redeemed/bought on. So if you used a different email to buy the Gold membership, make sure you are using that very same email account to sign in on your Xbox.

Because they are two different consoles and two different programs. Membership of one does not mean you are in the other.

Xbox live memberships are connected to accounts, so it is possible to use it on a different console.

The amount spent on the consoles will be different for everyone. If someone has their Gold or PSN+ membership set they won't spend as much as someone who is switching consoles or someone whose membership is set to expire. Someone who wants to use the PS
Eye will end up spending more than someone who doesn't.



Adding in optional accessories and yearly memberships to determine the total price doesn't work because everyone is in a different situation.
