    Did you already have a credit card or Paypal on file and it's asking you to change that?

    If you're trying to use the Microsoft account balance, the One and xbox.com stores have never been updated to use the balance as a valid payment option for backwards compatible content so a credit card or Paypal would need to be on file in order to make
    those purchases, even if it is free.

    I dont store my credit details on Microsoft.not after I got ripped off. I can downloaded free games and games with gold for xbox one . It's just the 360 free games you need to have a payment set up . Surely it should know your subscribed to gold .
