Please, temporalily turn off the Ask to buy option and ask your child to attempt the purchase again.

Sign in to your Family page with an adult Microsoft account.

Find the child's name and select More options > Spending.

Under the Ask to buy section, switch Needs organizer approval to buy things to Off.

I'm having a similar problem. I can play Halo 4 and Halo Reach, but when I try to play any other game, or do really anything else on Xbox, , it asks me for a family code. Oddly enough, it didn't start doing this until today.

I have access to my parent account, I practically manage it for him, and both his account and my account have accepted the TOU. I went into the family settings, and it says that my account is at adult status, as it should be, and that there are no content
controls on my account. But, when i sign in to my account and go to family settings, I'm prompted to enter the family code, and in the background I can see that content controls are turned on on my account.

So either I put content controls on myself in my sleep and don't remember the pass code or the answer to the reset question, or something went wrong on Microsoft's end.

I am encountering the same problem. Microsoft should have thought of this before converting the accounts. This is a mistake in the implementation and needs to be addressed. All family accounts should have been emancipated completely. This was a scenario
that obviously wasn't anticipated beforehand. How do we get this resolved?
