Did you know Microsoft can actually retrieve the license on the Xbox One, so individuals that call in for a refund on a game will receive that refund, but they will retrieve the content on the Xbox One!?

In the Xbox 360 there was no way to process this, so people would call in to get a refund, but would keep the game as well now they can't do their shady tricks. :c

Then if they lie Microsoft would have authority to retrieve the license over that game that they issued out to the customer.

I get the same error on my Surface RT. I know when Microsoft launched Xbox Video, they allow you to download the movie to watch off-line, but every so often it has to update the license. We called Microsoft and they said that you can move the movie file
onto any drive and as long as you use Microsoft video, it will retrieve the license and play the movie.

Once I reset my Surface and tried to play the offline files. it will not retrieve the license even though I am using the same ID. Any idea on how to fix this would be appreciated.

I believe that your brother would have to do a license transfer over to your console in order to do that. Or maybe just retrieve his GT over to your console.

As the license is retrieved from the disc itself, regrettably, no other disc can be used with that installation.

If you purchase a digital copy from the Microsoft Store and decide to keep your installation of the game, your system will go to install it, and will recognise that it's already present. It will then apply the digital license that is bound to
your account, thus making it playable again.
