There are few things more embarrassing than having an account suspended because of communications. Thanks to my immature brother, my account has a history with it, but I recently scored my first suspension that I can't blame on him. That said, the fact
that I originally had no clue as to what even caused my suspension is good reason to doubt if I'm to blame either. After reading the code of conduct, one would reasonably be under the impression that they're safe so long as they don't bully or harass other
players. I believe it does make mention of "inappropriate language," but "inappropriate" is a very subjective term, one which might have varied definitions among a community of people with nothing better to do with their time or money than to spend it on crappy
games with crappy players.

I'm not here to appeal my suspension. I've already done that. But I want to talk about how deliberately vague the code of conduct seems to be, and how there is one very simple and obvious step that has been neglected that could have very easily prevented such
infractions of the vague rules as mine. First, why doesn't the code of conduct say something along the lines of "absolutely no swearing whatsoever in any communications?" That does appear to be the rule they're enforcing, so wouldn't it be more concise to
just say it than all the unclear language they use instead? Secondly, why are swear words not censored in private messages as they are in LFG posts?

The answers to those questions that come to mind are probably that the rules don't strictly forbid swearing. This community full of M-rated games tolerates a fair amount of language, and that tolerance only ends at things like racial slurs, very direct and
offensive insults, and harassment. But if that's the case, then one would not be suspended merely for referring to a game as a
[Mod Removed] in a private message containing nothing directed at the recipient or any other individual.

I understand this discussion comes across very much like a rant, one which is written for the sake of writing it, not for the sake of the conversation it spawns around it. But I am genuinely eager to hear from you guys anything that can help me to reconcile
the loosely defined rules of the code of conduct with the harsh rules that are actually enforced, or anything that might help me understand why such simple measures as censoring swear words out of messages haven't been taken.
