Armor Shredding Weapons

What are some of your favorite weapons to use against armored targets???

Which weapons did you find to be the most effective at putting down armored targets quickly???

Pearl Feral Bearcat

After many hours I have found a Pearl Feral Bearcat **** rifle. I'd love to dupe it for other pearl weapons. Ultimate Vault Hunter mode is shredding me. Level 50 Legendary weapons are virtually useless. Some help would be appreciated.

 

Honestly...

In single player, I use armor piercing mods on all of Shepards weapons and all of my squad's weapons.

The M-98 Widow is always going to be my favorite when I need absolute armor shredding ability, but even then, I tend to mod it to give it MORE POWER.

Nothing like shooting through an enemy's cover, then through their armor, then through THEM, and hitting the enemy behind them. ^___________^

 

Well damn, My widow is only level 3 in multiplayer. I will give it a try. I didn't really care for it since, it had a low ammo count, one shot per reload and a slow reload time itself. That was far too many scarifies for all the damage that it does. But
I'll take your word for it.

Multiplayer is a bit of a different animal.

I'm still going to use armor piercing mods. However, since I play mostly caster classes (Engineer, Adept, etc), I try to maximize my cooldowns. That means using primarily heavy pistols and sub-machine guns.

Typically, for pistols I use either the N7 Eagle or the M-6 Carnifex. For sub-machine guns, I use the N7 Hurricane or the M-12 Locust.

I use to swear by the M-5 Phalanx, but you need to pull the trigger rapidly to take advantage of it's fast firing rate. The Eagle is automatic and is easier on the hands.

But you should probably not take my word for it. As I said, I play a lot of casters. I'm trying to throw down as much Overload or Incinerate as I can as quick as I can. My focus is rarely on weapons except when my powers are cooling.

 

See I was exactly the same, but with a focus on melee too. Like the N7 infiltrator. Increasing her powers and melee damage makes her shadow strike more powerful. There would be entire matches were I wouldn't fire a single round. So I too, also try to get
the fastest possible cool down.

But lately, I been trying other classes like the Geth Prime, vorcha, N7 Demo, and more of those other classes that has a high focus on weapons, where cool down speed is unnecessary. So thus why I created this thread to see the opinions of those who do use
weapons a lot.

Playing on Gold using weapons, I'm finding it to take a much longer time to take down heavily armored targets.

 

For my Geth Juggernaut, I usually use either the Reegar Carbine shotgun or the Adas Anti-Synthetic assault rifle. For a backup, I bring the N7 Hurricane.

 

i'll still stick with a Phaeston with drill mod (Would hate to see that thing at level ten) along with the Carnifex for the vorcha setup (Not the engineer)

 

I LLOOOOVVVEEEEE the reegar carbine. BEST. SHOTGUN. EVER!

That thing chews through shields, barriers and health so damn fast. Even on gold, enemies drop in like two-three seconds from that thing. When it comes to putting down enemies the quickest, no gun even comes close from what I've seen.

But it is TERRIBLE at taking on enemies with armor. like, I emptied an entire clip into a brute on gold and it only lost like a single bar of armor. So i have to carry another weapon.

I wonder why you like the phaeston. I don't like that weapon at all. I don't see any special features about it. there's much better rifles. So far, my go to rifle has been the Lancer. I couldn't believe they brought that gun back from mass effect 1. I've
never even seen this weapon till I unlocked it. I was like"…………wut, don't I already have this weapon." then I noticed the color and the N7 background so I knew something was special about this one. It has that infinite ammo, regenerating clip all guns in
the first game had. Bringing back a straight classic. It would be nice if they did that for all weapon classes. like the sniper rifle, pistol and shotgun and such.

Man back in ME1, if you had good enough heat sinks, you could literally fire none stop with those weapons.

But still that guns fire rate, damage and accuracy is not that great.

 

Reegar is a great gun but Venom shotgun is better. Nothing even comes close in multiplayer. Level 10 is off the charts. Thats why it is very rare. In story its super beast. Even the hardest difficulty becomes a breeze.

 

@ post above the phaeston (which is at lvl seven or eight now) imo has a good damage and balance ratio that it is my main saboteur (who happens to be a turian) weapon, coupled with the X Mantis... although at times I forget I have the thing because the mantis
is sniping too many heads (wouldn't you forget you had a secondary weapon too if you were in the heat of battle?)

 

btw how strong is the N7 Demolisher? I'm trying to get him burning through all of the reserves packs but I can't get him to drop! does he hit as hard as he looks, or is he weaker (and he looks better in the black/scarlet design imo). sorry about double post

You know what, I've never even tried the Venom shotgun, although I have it on single player. I have a level one in multiplayer. I will give it a try! I also have the crusader, never tried that either. I just unlocked the both of them today actually.

 

Like most very rare weapons, the Venom is very good at high levels but don't expect miracles at the low levels. It's key power is in its charged shots, so be aware that simple shooting with it doesn't give you its true potential. And it's almost useless
for squadmates who never fire charged shots for any weapon. It's also very heavy, so if you're a caster class, you might want to consider something else as it can affect your cooldowns, especially until it is upgraded to level X.
