Ark is so good, that Microsoft should just put a ring on it...

OMG, this game is sooo good! I honestly think Microsoft might have a gem on their hands. Phil should just go ahead and buy this IP, and offer
Studio Wildcard a 5-10 year support contract. That way the developer stays independent, but they have the resources to expand the game. I honestly think this could be a long-lived game like Minecraft, across multiple
platforms. You could even do expansion packs to give you access to new Arks and more advance tech. I think it would be really cool to add NPCs to expand your settlements and provide some extra defenses for when you are offline. Heck, you can get Dinos to do
so, so why not NPCs? Loving this game…

A good way to grab Priscilla's Dagger is to max out a pyro glove, put on great fireball (or great chaos fireball) and the bellowing dragon crest ring, and attack her tail to aggro her. It should be enough to take off her tail in the first shot.

It sounds like the problem is that ring. No, the console doesn't put rings on your disk on purpose as I have had many games that have gotten rings and have been unplayable. The ring would also explain why the game isn't completely unplayable. The only ways
that i have found to fix this is to either take the game to a local game store and see if they have something that can fix the ring (although i believe that rings are basically unfixable) or just buy a new copy of the game, since it is Black Ops it shouldn't
be too expensive.

 

It might be good if your characters weren't bound to each server making you start over every time you have to join a new one. With only 70 people per server and very few servers you will never get on the same with your friends. I understand you can host
your own and continue with your character but playing offline defeats the nature of this game. I hope this is addressed and fixed because I would love to get play with all my friends and join a big tribe

 

Yeah, I think a easy fix short term for the server load issues might be to institute a queueing system. MMOs usually have it to basically hold your place in line for like PVP dungeons for example. Since Microsoft is hosting these game, they can just make
a waiting list that tags your gamer id to the server you are trying to get into. Long term, I think they need to boost maximum population of each server and limit the total maximum number allowed per server. So let's say they boost it to 100, then limit
the maximum player count to maybe 125-135. The likel0hood of having all players wanting to get on at once isn't likely, but a 70% to 75% ratio is pretty good. Anyway, Hoping to see this game expand and improve!

 

A lot the players online were people who only were using the trial they now won't allow trial players into dedicated servers freeing up lots of room for people like us who bought the game

 

Not seeing the appeal to ARK to be honest. Anyone care to enlighten me to what's actually so good about it? I found the trial really boring.

 

As of right now 237 dedicated servers 1/1/16 815pm and there all full, been trying for a hour to get on. So if you get this game don't expect to be able to play it. If you do get in to one your be starting over your character over and over and over.

 

Seems like a really easy fix just get more servers but that cost money so not going to happen. If I would have know this i would have not bought this game early today, at this point I would love a refund but the chances of that is 0. So now I am stuck
with a game I won't be able to play for a few weeks.

 

So it's that good huh? I might have to check this one out. It's one of those early access games correct? I saw some images of it and it does look pretty appealing.

 

Absolutely brilliant game.

I have a game going on in my local XBox and a Dedicated Server that I play on with some friends.

Dinosaurs are amazing. Being dropped in naked and afraid and having to clothe and shelter yourself, manage your hunger and thirst, craft and evolve, explore and advance.

Absolutely brilliant.

There are many dedicated servers and sometimes it might take a few minutes to log on but it's not been a big deal for me. Maybe we just chose a good server.

First time on the beach, took a swim in the water... thought, hey, is that a fish, when I saw a shape in the distance. Took me ages to get closer and then it saw me. "Maybe it wants to be friends"...

Nope. It was a Jurassic Shark and it ate me.

Best experience so far... being trolled by a Sarco (Giant Crocodile Dinosaur) that was guarding an Arkfall. The thing would eat me to bits whenever I tried to get close...

Thought about what I was doing... got the Sarco to chase me through a herd of Trikes (Triceatops) who took exception to the Sarco's aggression and the herd of Trikes attacked it and stabbed it to death with their horns... then moved off so I could see to
the corpse and swan off with enough hide and raw meat to feed the Tribe for a month.

 

ARK is awesome. What you build in said server will be yours always in that server unless another tribe trashes it when your offline. This game is more addicting then Metal Gear and Rainbow Six and Star Wars combined for me. On my days off from work I'm
putting in a good 8 to 12 hours building up my houses. I abandoned my 3 story cabin on the beach. Now I got this big cabin on the side of a cliff. Also got running water from irrigation pipes going up the cliff and garden on my back deck on the cliff. Started
making spark powder and gun powder last night. I see I'm missing oil to make grenades. Gonna have to invest in XP points to learn scuba gear crafting.

Reason I abandoned my 3 story cabin was my tribe owner joined his friend tribe. Then tribe leader left next day to join his friends tribe in same server. Then he promoted me admin then he left. But he didn't go in the tribe management tab to adjust the
tribe rules of what you build is yours or not. He left it so what you build is only the tribe and what you tame is tribes. So I left as well. Now I got my tribe where what you build and tame is your own but can snap on and build off tribes houses.

 

If you go to the beach and smash those little sea cockroach things that wander about the beach they seem to be a source of oil.

Over the weekend I was outside in the back yard with my wife. Herd this buzzing and nearly jumped out of my skin because I thought it was those dragon fly bugs and I didn't have a spear handy.

My wife thought this was hilarious.

She loves watching me play the game.
