ARK Cloud with gamepass PC

I have Xbox Cloud and I am trying to play with a friend who has the game installed through the gamepass, however, every time we try to join each other we only get "Join failed"

Anyone knows why that might be happening?

you need the ark game on gamepass pc as microsofts wisdom have ported over the console version with extra menus.

ark will only crossplay with xbox console to windows store/gamepass version
