Are you thinking of getting Xbox Scorpio as soon as it comes out late this year? Why?

I'll be getting Scorpio on day one since I can then put my 4K tv to good use. Hopefully there will be VR on the Scorpio shortly as well. If not, no big deal.

 

VR would be good, but VR tech is FAR too expensive. Sony sells PS4 VR for a RRP of NZ$699 ish in NZ. Microsoft sells Kinect in NZ for RRP NZ$169.95, and you can do lots of things with Kinect (sign in securely to your console no pin no password using facial/body/infrared
tech.... voice chat.... console video chat, screw video chatting on a small phone/laptop screen, blow it up on your HDTV your console is connected to using Kinect... QR codes to redeem stuff off Xbox Live. Entering a 25 digit key accurately first time takes
longer and is old school. Kinect takes 1 second. Entering a key takes several seconds... play some games. Games I have are Kinect Sports Rivals and Zoo Tycoon).

If you want VR...... GO OUTSIDE!! (lol). Go to an amusement park. Video games with VR can't beat that. You feel the air rippling on a real life rollercoaster, rather than wearing overweight "goggles". If people complained about paying an extra $100 at launch,
for Kinect, it's gonna be AN OUTCRY at the price tag for VR.

I really want to buy it on day one but i think i wait till i have more/all information about it. Still disapointed about the xbox one and xbox one s because of the diffrent space and limited editions that always be announced after a long time of release.
Thats the reason i stop buying day one console like xbox one and xbox one s. Still wait for a black xbox one s with 1 or 2 TB but i think this never happen. Hope its the first and last time not buying the newest xbox console.

 

Me too. Hopefully it won't be a behemoth black box. Something cute or a relatively slim size console perhaps white or a high quality black colour. Hopefully you can stand up the console vertically as well as lay it flat. And hopefully Microsoft being the
largest software company in the world, fixes their UI for Xbox 1 cause A LOT of people have and are, complained or complaining about it. Xbox 360's UI is really great. It's far more user friendly, avatars, it's like a kiddy UI which I love, not littered with
Windows 10 boxes like Xbox 1 has. Even kids on Xbox 360 I've met including 12 year olds, hate the UI on Xbox 1. I've also had Xbox 1 since it launched day 1 in November 2013. I don't hate the UI on Xbox 1. But the software will be running on a beefed up hardware
console with an 8 core processor, so it better be fluid. When I got Xbox 1 at launch, it felt like my machine was running Windows Vista, which is notoriously a very bad OS which is super slow. Sure they may release a better version Scorpio, but who's gonna
wait....................................................................................................................................... , for it to come out? It's not like humans can live for eternity waiting for stuff to come out. According to info from
IGN, it should roughly be the same size as the original Xbox 1.

 

Seriously i waited more than a year after release of xbox one to buy it. A few months later they announced the 1TB version. I was so angry about it but you're right nobody wants to wait, we all get older.

So now i decide to skip buying xbox one s cause theres no bundle thats black and have 1 or 2TB.

By the way i posted a thread about "Cover Plates instead of Console Bundles" i think that could be the Future. Nobody knows better than us what we want and need.

 

Whats the point of Scorpio when, aside from higher resolution, their is nothing that differentiates it from the current gen? At least in FPS, which MS now contends will be.(excuse) "Up to devs." ~ The Red Dragon as well as others in gaming news. (Xbox One

They may as well release Scorpio in 2018 - 2020 as a next gen console which runs the full library of xbox one and 360 games via BC, for as with. "Resolutiongate." 30fps locks aren't going to go over well IMO.

Side Note; Im sure that Bungie, which inadvert brought this to light hates MS, and who cane blame them? But if MS doesen't do something, the Scorpio project will be an epic failure IF released this year. My opinion.

 

This is more interesting than you may think and pretty much ensures that we will be seeing Scorpio exclusive titles.

Since both the One and the Scorpio will be playing the same games, sharing the same online lobbies, people playing on the Scorpio are going to have the advantage with higher frames per second and greater resolutions. Microsoft are allowing developers to now
break the rule of the console market of "all players are equal."

It won't be long after the first shared online game that we'll see the developers, or Microsoft themselves, saying "in the interest of fairness we'll be separating the lobbies." A little time after that it'll be "the game simply couldn't be made to run as we
liked on the base Xbox One, so this game will be exclusive to the Scorpio."

Microsoft have realised that promising parity between the One and the Scorpio was a mistake, this is their way of shifting the blame onto the developers.

 

I agree Zen. We will eventually see games that are exclusive to Scorpio and PC.

 

I'm not too fussy about how it looks. I just want one now.
