What year is it? How long have video games been around? And still I am forced to choose between predefined stck and button layouts! This is ridiculous. Why can't I map the controller the way I like? Come on! Let me map my own controller!

I keep running into games where from the word go I'm getting big booted the slammed faster than anyone can react. This goes on until the person I'm play either pins me or what I do now is just back out. They big boot me across the area and a guy was doing
it to me inside of the ring while I was on the ramp. 2k get you stuff together

Thats not 2K, thats glitchers and spammers.. and that is in every fighting game out there.. all you can do is file a report... crap like this is why you keep a group you play with that no one cares about wins/loses and just wants to play... cause half the
people out there only care about there record and will cheat to get it.

 

Is there a reason you've decided to complain about this here when ever other console game has this same issue?

 

I am complaining here because Halo has never had the button layout I like. Halo has always been a well polished game but it has always failed with control layouts. Also, this is not the only place I have complained about this issue. I have complained
about other games in addition to Halo.

Not all games have this problem. Fighting games like Killer Instinct allow you to map your own controls. PC games allow it too.

How hard is it to allow players to map their own controls?

I have had some problem but Bungie will work it out. When I can't connect I back out and try again and that usually works.

The reason I am mentioning the control layout problem is because they have no plans on fixing it. They will most definitely fix the connection issue.

I agree. I spent some time switching back and forth between settings (universal) until I found one to finally SETTLE on. Mapping things myself would have been way nice. Really I wouldn't have cared about it if they would have had a choice I actually liked.

 

There are plenty of button and stick layout options. If you can't find one you like I would say you are in the minority.

 

I think there are like 4 basic control schemes, so 'plenty' isn't exactly the word I would use. If we were talking about a ss kickings, 4 would be plenty. Part of the problem is trying to find a universal scheme that's comfortable across all games. Changing
schemes depending on the game is not an option for me to maximize effectiveness. I ended up going with the scheme where the RB reloads and picks up weapons. I need to get more used to the RB button, since IMO it's not nearly as well placed as the 360 version
was. For the most part X goes unused, which sucks, but I have melee and scope/zoom without having to take my finger off the RT.
