are xbox one controllers coded to console???

hi guys i have an unlimited warranty i bought for my new xbox one i bought an extra controller from same store and since dropped and broke on of my controllers. no problem i thought "I'm covered" i have accidental unlimited claims warranty. i made the
call to arrange repair and was told that all xbox one controllers are coded to the console and if i sent in a different controller then i would be charged for a new pad. i haas made to categorically confirm that this was indeed the controller that came with
my console. i have a lot of issues here firstly i think that they are full of
    [Mod Removed]
and the pads are not coded to the console for the following reasons

    1. the console was not scanned only the box barcode which is generic and only corresponds to the product sku

    2. the 360 consoles were scanned through the little window cut out the xbox one has no such window

    3. the pad is sent to a 3rd party repairer and not to the shop

    4. no questions were asked to assertion the console code found in they console settings menu

    5. they said they have charged loads of people for sending in broken pads they have purchased online to get repaired under warranty and then sell on. this is utter crap as any broken pads are still covered by 1st year warranty. ok some accidentally damaged
pads to not apply but a simple search on ebay shows only two listings for broken pads.......... none sold

    6. this is obviously bullying tactics as they know that the console comes with one pad but a great majority buy a second pad and they are trying to scare people into not claiming because the risk of getting charged for a new pad if the one you send in is
intact the second shop bough pad. i cannot tell which one of my pads is the one i bought from the shop and which is the one i got with the console, so i fall into that category

i am asking has anyone else either come across this issue or been threatened with the same statement of charges as i have. if you have DONT let them bully you into not claiming. you have paid good money for that warranty and THERE IS NO WAY ON EARTH THAT
THESE PADS ARE CODED TO THE CONSOLE!!!!!

or has anyone any evidence of these pads indeed being coded to the console????????

    :)

Received replacement One now can't play Blue-Rays/DVDs

    Hey chief,

Xbox one consoles are region coded to specific regions - game disks for the xbox one console are not coded to regions as per the above link.

    Cannot Purchase from 360 Store

Nope it's not checking to the xbox one it is checking for a 360 compatibility and since those are hard coded into the machines and xbox one doesn't have a hard coded region it fails

  4. are xbox one controllers coded to console???

Hi Steve, I definitely understand your frustration with having a controller that isn't functioning properly. While I don't know all of the ins and outs of current inventory control at Microsoft, I can tell you that the controllers are serialized, and as
such the one that comes with the console package is most likely tied to the serial number of the console that it was packaged with. Kind of similar to when you purchase a car, all of the components are tied to the VIN number. So yes, if you purchase a second
controller and claim that is the one that came with the console package, you'll get busted and charged for a replacement.

    xbox remotes disconnecting

    Hi JacquesReynecke,

A power cycle can restart your Xbox One console completely, which is helpful for fixing issues on your console and your controller. To power cycle your console:
    1. Hold the Xbox button on the front of your Xbox One console for about 10 seconds to turn off your
    console.

    2. Press the Xbox button on the console
    to turn it on.

    3. Try your controller and see if this fixes your connection problem.

If you have another controller, try it on your console and see if the disconnection issue is fixed?

If the second controller functions normally, your original controller needs to be replaced. But If both controllers share the same issue, your console needs to be serviced.
If this happen you'll need to contact xbox support here:

    https://beta.support.xbox.com/contact-us

    Hope this help

    HaZe

    Xbox console

    Hi KatrinaC,

Thanks for your post. I understand you are experiencing an issue with an Xbox console. Is this console you are describing an Xbox One original console or an Original Xbox console? There is a solution to remove a parental control code for the Xbox 360, check
out this article: Xbox 360 Parental Code Reset.

MS Still offering Day One Edition Console Bundles?

isnt the day one console identical. the only difference is an achievement code and the controller?

    -

what i think is more unusual is that some people got an xbox one on day one that wasnt a day one console.
