Are XB One Controllers designed to fall apart? Any repair services?

Last night, my now second Xbox One controller's bumper randomly fell off while playing.

Mind you, I'm not a rage-gamer. So it's not like I'm throwing my controllers at the wall here. Only common use.

(Not only that, I was having connectivity issues with both controllers before their bumpers fell off.

Their connectivity was so bad, almost any vibration, or even loud noise that played through my headset, would kill the controller completely.

I'd then have to go through a ritual to reboot/re-connect the controllers to the console, and the Xbox headset back to the controllers.

I eventually gave up and resorted to hard-wiring my wireless controllers, as this was the
only way to completely fix all the connectivity issues.

When your wireless hardware needs to be hard-wired to work properly, that crosses the line into absurdity.)

What I'm driving at is: Xbox One hardware is a joke.

My original Xbox 360 controllers work and function perfectly fine to this day, but both XB1 controllers I have had exhibited identical issues, all in a fraction of the time they were used.

Is there any kind of service Microsoft/Xbox provides that allows their customers to get their lemon products repaired, free of charge?

I'm not paying $60+ for another piece of garbage.

Microsoft is the one selling faulty hardware, they should be the ones to do something about it.

That's a shame. I'm surprised there isn't a class action with how common it allegedly is.

Oh well, guess it's gonna be 3rd party controllers from here on out.

I have also gotten a elite series 2 controller for christmas last year and im not a rage gamer either and one of 2 of the paddles on the back of the controller have stiffend so i have to push even harder to use them, also one of the trigger setting sliders
came off on its own and wont stay on, both my bumpers are nkt responding and when im lucky and have to click them in once it thinks ive pressed it twice. And i have drift on my controller I didnt have most of thesr issues with my elite controller series 1
i only had the drift on both analogs and that started quite some time after i bought it in fact it wasnt long before i got my series 2 so if you i would be careful with any controller if you do get a top of the range one treat it better than your first born
child.

Yeah the bummpers always tend to go and unless its under warrenty, youll be paying pretty much anywhere.

I would advise everyone to think twice before purchasing an Xbox One controller from Microsoft Design Lab. I paid £70 for one from the official store which has lasted 13 months before falling apart. I rang customer service to be told it was one
month out of warranty and there was nothing they could do about it. Surely for that price its should last longer. Very poor.

Its no different from a normal control you just pick the cosmetics

I have heard that support are happily replacing controllers that suffer build quality issues but you have to send yours off first, essentially leaving you with no Xbox for about a week unless you have a second controller. I can vouch that the newer controllers
are a lot better, as have others in the past so it may be worth doing. Your call at the end of it.
