Are we too connected?

I think I only have 20 odd friends over Live now. I hate being pestered and I hate being spammed with nonsense. When I first got Live, I would literally add anyone and accept any friend request......big mistake! I ended up deleting nearly everyone one afternoon.
Now I only accept people that I enjoyed a game with or someone I'm certain wont annoy the crap out of Me.

I added geek to my 360 list about 3 weeks ago as he sent me a message do u want the opportunity to... i made some room on my list and accepted. he does seem a perfectionist and geek and older than me but he plays minecraft. I dont just accept anyone tho.

3. I think many of you are starting to get the idea that I send M2AF every single day; I don't. It's more like once or twice a week, which IMO, isn't that bad. It's also relative because of how often you might log onto Xbox Live - it might seem more annoying
if you're on more often.

SS is right about not being able to tell who the target audience would be. With as many XBL friends as I have, it's downright impossible to know everyone's interests, favorite games, games owned, etc. I may know a few, like those I play FM5 or KI with, but
certainly not everyone - not by a long shot.
Well, with the upcoming update GG won't need to mass message people, you got something to say that isn't overly important? Just post it on the activity feed. We'll see how it turns out, it may get lost in the shuffle if you have a huge list
of friends. But I do think we can click on anyone profile & see specifically what they were up to.

So next time GG watches a video he wants to share, he can post it at that moment.
I'm not sure that's exactly how it works. With it, I think you can leave comments on certain actions such as when you post a clip, but you can't just put something like
a M2AF out of thin air through the activity feed itself. Regarding this, we'll see soon enough. Are we too connected? ;)

I'm also aware that we were connected long before XBL as some of you have said, but it's certainly changing the landscape of consoles, that's for sure.

Finally, I'd like to add a question to those of you who are annoyed by my M2AF messages: If I removed the "M2AF" at the beginning so you thought the message was more personally directed at you rather than to everyone (which I have done on a few occasions),
do you think you would be more apt (likely) to read it or even respond to it?

4. Are we too connected?

Watch the video about the next update, at the very top of the feed it shows what looks similar to a twitter post option saying

"Got something to say?"

You see that Treit and True posted a message

"I'll be on Titanfall tonight at 9:00" 8m ago

We can even post a comment to that message.

So you will be able to do your Forza & KI messages like that or while watching a doc on Netflix just post the title and recommend others to watch it.

Of course, as I said, that can go unnoticed, especially with a big & active feed. Otherwise, people can just click on your profile to see what you've been up to.

hopefully they give us a filter so if we don't want to see Achievements people unlocked but just clips or posts it'll be easier.

5. Wasn't the filter concept also shown in the video, CC?

6. I read 24's post on the first page and just had to say I agree!

I actually want there to be some kind of global catastrophe, like a solar flare or whatever that takes out all modern technology and we have to revert back to the arts and each others company as our entertainment.

I would settle for the zombie apocalypse too! Then killing and surviving could be our entertainment, haha!

I dont mind getting mass messages because i just delete them and dont read them. i blocked a old friend called star because he kept sending me pointless voice messages about you tube etc, you see GG i dont watch tv shows on my xbox so sending me a message
about a tv show which im never going to watch is no good i dont watch docs or stuff like that. what does annoy me is when someone sends me aparty invite and because i dont join they insist on sending me another 6 within 5 mins if i dont join the first time
then i aint going to join atall, GG has done that once but thats all so this part about party invites isnt directed at GG. i like getting messages from friends but not silly tv shows so please remember that next time GG that o dont want messages for tv shows.

10. Getting constant Invites to a party can be the most annoying thing. On the 360 a Party Inv message disappears if it goes unnoticed, but not on XB1, so 1 notification is enough, if I'm able to join I will, no extra messages are needed.

I have had people remove me because we don't play together, its rarely ever something personal, but some can take it that way.

I enjoy having a list of active gamers if only to see other people having fun, even if I'm not with them. I wish I had all the time in the world to play everything with everyone, but its just not possible.

11. In regards to invites, I generally invite people who are already playing the game that I want to play. For example, if I want to play TF, I will look at my FL to see who is already playing TF and then invite those people. If they're too busy and don't come,
I will then expand the invites to anyone in a similar game, like CoD or BF. If someone still doesn't show, I then expand it to everyone who's playing a game, but not to those who are using apps/other media (YouTube, TV, Netflix, etc. because they likely won't
see it or join anyways - especially true after this next upcoming August update). After that if nobody shows, then I'll either join someone's game or party to see if I can play with them or just play alone.

^^Thank god for that disable notifications during videos option. Watching anime with subs and having friends come online is a terrible experience.

@Digi dont listen to Goth. You arent crazy, more like a realist.

13. Are we too connected?

Because I check which friends are online so often and who's available to play games with, I turned off sign-in notifications for everyone.

14. Very good question GG.

Answer: Mans very Nature (our programming if you will) is knowing, and by implementation, experiencing both Good, and Evil. (Positive/Negative action/reaction if you prefer)

Thus by our nature, their is also both Good, and Evil in everything we create, and do.

I'll leave it to the reader to ponder why. .

What I've found which my Xbox 1 console doesn't do is when a friend even if they're on my favourites list, signs in onto Xbox 360, there is no notification of that on your Xbox 1 console. Even after going to settings on the Dashboard. But it does notify
you when a friend signs in onto an Xbox 1 console. It's cool having that feature though. Bring back beacons too. It gets kind of funny (some annoying some say it's unprofessional but hey Xbox is for fun) when you get notifications especially on Xbox 360 like
a friend comes online a friend has started playing [name of game] (beacon notification) and your doing a Youtube video.
