Are there import fees when buying XBox Series X in Canada?

I had the exact same thing happen to me. Ordered my XBox Series X from the Microsoft online store, and now UPS is holding it (yes, I'm sure it's UPS...I'm on the phone with them right now) until I pay import duties. I ordered online from the Canadian Microsoft store, paid in Canadian dollars, paid taxes and enviro fees. If Microsoft is short stock in Canada and needs to ship from the States, that is not in my control; why am I getting dinged for the import charges?

So I dug a little deeper at UPS by getting put through to the brokerage division (honestly the first person you talk to probably doesn't know anything other than the fact there are import fees, not who is supposed to pay them). Turns out it is the sender (Microsoft) that they are waiting on import fees from, not me, the receiver. However the brokerage agent was confused as to why they were holding the package at the warehouse as it should not have had anything to do with the import duties.

Are you sure its ups ? That sounds like a scam to be honest a delivery fee litterally scam

Only thing is microsoft store and they ship from wearhouse in Canada because the physical stores are in canada

If you ordered from Amazon read where they ship it from unless it says MICROSOFT ita not xbox

And MS doesnt hold taxes they pay them for you they did it for me for my launch xbox one kit

amazon is known to charge you import taxes

Have you talked to UPS 1800 number not any link they provide you cause it's a scam

most countries charge import fees if the item is crossing borders, it all depends on the country.

It can do up to 8K depending on the game.

If resolution is important to you, buy the Series X, athe S will look fine on pretty much anything

Xbox ones are not series x consoles and it's 16 years of difference in technology

New games are only coming out of series for series s or ps5 or steam
