    You can check the status of xbox live either by going to the xbox live website and checking xbox live status or by going to the network settings menu on your xbox and checking your connection status.

    Yeah, use the website that someone has yet mentioned. There you can easily find out any problem. Another way to fin out is check under options (in your xbox): near your actual connection will be the xbox live status
