Are replacements new or refurbished consoles?

Depends.If they can fix your console quickly then you'll get the same console back.

If not you'll likely get a refurbished console back.

If your console is new then why not take it back to where you bought it & get it exchanged or a refund?

Logging into Microsoft my old device is displayed on my list but a new one I didn’t recognize was added, conversing with the virtual agent revealed my device was not shipped back and a replacement is in transit I just wanted to know if there was a way to check before it arrives.
