Are " Pilots " really more lethal than " Titans " ?

I've noticed that my stats are ay lower when I Pilot my Titan. When in one my main focus is other Titans so I don't bother with the AI, and most pilots are sneeking around trying to get the drop on me or killing other pilots. I die less but I kill less
as well.

 

I think the balancing is close to perfect.

Titans are less manoeuvrable, but they have far stronger weapons and health, plus even if your titan is doomed, your pilot can still escape. With a pilot, one on-target shot from a titan is instant death, plus you can just steamroll over grunts, spectres
and careless pilots.

I've put about 40 hours into the game and I don't think a determined pilot has ever taken me down just by repeatedly shooting me. Usually, I will dash out of the way if I'm being targeted, or I'll spot the pilot and shoot them - and even if I miss, most
of the time they run off.

When a pilot rodeos me, I break out the electric smoke. If they're a n00b, they die. If not, they jump off and a lot of the time they don't jump back on cos I keep moving. If they do jump back on, I jump out and I'd say about 8/10 times I kill them.

Overall, I always score more points towards the team objective compared to if I hadn't called the titan in, with the only exception to that being if a bunch of enemy titans gang up on me and shoot/punch me into a quick doomed state.

 

There was a time shortly after release I felt this way. I abandoned my titan because every time I jumped in I would just get rodeo'd... without the electric smoke you're kind of ***.. until you learn some strategy.. then it's all good.

 

it kinda sucks when theres no team play going on when you get rodeo'd so you cant get a near by teammate to either hulk smash or shoot the guy on your back

 

what's worse is when you see a teammate getting rodeo'd and he runs in the opposite direction your in and all you wanna do is Big Punch the dude off him. Just Stand Still People

 

Next time I get rodeo'd I'm gonna just stand there and hope one of my team mates has seen it and punches him off Without people talking this game is like any other multiplayer game. Say what you want about COD and HALO, I hate COD BTW, but every lobby
I get in on there, there's always a load of people talking. Why does no one ever talk on Tincanfall and BF?

 

I've noticed more people with headsets recently

 

if you have a cluster missile go stand next to a wall and shoot it. that will kill anyone trying to rodeo you

 

People are starting to talk a bit more now. But just a bit, a big problem was the bug where you wouldn't be able to use your mic even if you wanted to

 

The thing for me is that I enjoy being on the ground way too much. I only bother to use my titan for the extra 25 points ill get for calling it and getting my challenges done. BTW can anyone recommend a good titan loadout to get through my arc cannon challenges?
I tend to use the Stryder for most now that ive gotten the hang of it, but advice accepted

 

This is a valid question, and there are obviously pros and cons to both sides - personally, I prefer a balanced approach, as some others have said. Pilots have the advantage of agility and better range of motion, providing for more potential kills and faster
getaways, but the brute strength of the Titan is helpful in hardpoint defense, as well as multi-titan situations. Also, I've found that I fare better piloting my Titan in situations when other Titans are around, but allowing him to work on auto when there
are mostly pilots and AI around. Whenever my Titan is on auto in a situation where I've gotten killed as a pilot, I have very seldom failed to make it back to my Titan before he is destroyed.

The added benefit to this is, whenever you enter your Titan, you automatically refill your ammo (and health, if I'm not mistaken) so it has been a useful tip for me to just have him nearby to hop in and out of for a quick refill!

 

I'm glad to hear more people are talking! I always have my headset hooked up, but I literally have only heard people talking twice since I got the game. The hilarious thing is, the last time I heard someone talking (a couple of days ago) his only words were,
"D*** it, I didn't have my headset plugged in, just great...."
